G'day all.
My first post is re price.
Wangaratta Mitsubishi have an demo 2013 GLX-R manual, Ironbark, towbar and nudge bar with 36 km's on the clock. He's wanting $38,000 and after reading previous post, think a bit of bargaining is called for.
Any thoughts?

Eastside Mitsubishi in Melbourne have a couple of very keenly priced unregistered undriven Demos at the minute, Silver GLX-R Auto at $37, 350 & a GLX + for $33,990, Auto i think it was in White.
I wish i was just buying mine now instead of January, i would have saved $5,000

G'day all, newbie here need advice. Have ordered a black glx plus with tow bar and tub liner for 30k drive away in qld. But I can get a ironbark glxr with same tow and tub for 35500. To me 5500 is a lot for things that are not that important, colour (nice though), super select 4wd, sports bar ( will get canopy some stage), information system ( k's to empty is all I care about) .

Anyone got real ideas of benefit going to glxr.

I can buy a camper trailer for the difference or bull bar rear step and canopy on glx

Can change contract but would love advice from any of you guys.

Cheers

Just put the deposit down on a my13 white GLX, Alto Mitsubishi Pennant Hills
$28,500 drive away
window tint $275
rubber floor mats $63.50

I am waiting for a price on a canopy but fear that now they have the deposit they might not be so keen to give me the best price, no matter, will probably wait for a second hand arb or plexiglass to come up on ebay or similar, ditto a tow bar
my13 White GLX manual, ARB canopy, air compressor , bull bar & tow bar, Alpine head unit, AVI speakers, Ultimate Suspension, MSA canvas seatcovers, IPF HID spotties, GME UHF, Tail-gate lock, 4LED reversing light, Ebay snorkel, 2nd battery, aldi winch

Yup. Side steps and alloys.
Side steps do look pretty cheap but will do the job for now.

Well finely got mine paid deposit late June, EOFYS sale. Paid $31600 GLX duel cab Pearl black 4 speed auto and car mats. I was getting a bit edgy with the wait but the silver lining which has made it all worth it was. Its badged a 2014 model the auto now comes with carpet std and a rear steps included. Not sure what I've missed out on they don't tell you that part. Anyways I'm looking forward to building her up. Went straight from the dealership and have tinted windows. I'll post some pics tomorrow. :D

Sounds cool, but how can they badge a car 2014 in September 2013? I got one of the first batch of 2013 models in late January 2013, and now 8 months later the 2014 is already on the roads??

been quoted $30500 for glx plus in silver with sports bar, carpet mats, bonnet protector and headlight protectors at one dealer and $29990 for a glx plus in white with black and white nsw plates, mats, headlight and bonnet protector but no sports bar at another....decisions decisions :? :? .....or go to more dealers?!? hehe ;)

one dealer reckons these are the last of the plus packs and the next batch will be back to standard with steels and no steps? after reading on this forum i have a hard time believing anything a dealer tells me (never bought brand new before so haven't had the pleasure). Had 2 salesmen and the finance guy standing round me on Sat telling me $29990 (talked down from $32k) was the best price in the country on sat, opened the paper and a different dealer is advertising them at $29990 straight up in the advert....all very confusing. I also found no one wants to give you a price unless your buying the same day. Get a rough price "but we will see what we can do when u are defo buying one from us"

ah well see how i feel tomo, mite try the dealer advertising them cheap if i can be assed with a bit of a drive out to his place or mite go for the silver at $30.5k

That's pretty good. Was quoted $30000 GLX plus in silver no extras. Same dealership. Will have to make a counter offer. What colour did you get

I know a car unloader at Port Kembla, he says that they are already getting the GLX's in with no alloys or rear step, but the side steps are still being fitted.

Thats a good price DLT. Gcmk i got the white, i was going for silver but seen them sitting beside each other on the day and just preferred the white. none of them would budge on the 29990 but there was a bit of bargaining in the extras as i had the other quotes to go off. dealt with Jason at Kellys.

Hendo,
Sort of went through the same questions when I bought my 2012GLX last year.
Not interested in the bling inside, and definitely wanted vinyl floors for the touring.
Came down to easy select or super select 4wd.
My old 1985 NB pajero had the same as easy select, and my newer 1996 NJ pajero had the super select.
Both got me a lot of places. Super select is useful on the road when wet and slippery, but firm or bitumen.
But they come standard with traction control and stability control these days, so super select not that useful.
Dealer threw in a factory rear diff lock on the GLX, and what I saved bought me the bullbar and canopy.
Very personal decision. :o)
