I'd like to make a slide-on camper, but my Triton dual cab probably isn't the best vehicle for one.
But I like my Triton, and while it's a 2013, I've had it since new and it only has 85,000kms on the clock.
Obviously I could move to another dual cab, but without going to one of the US full-sized pickups, the other options don't seem to be much better (better, but not by much).
So, rather than changing utes, perhaps a chassis extension is the way to go?
I know it'd be a lot of money to put into such an old vehicle, but if I was changing utes I'd probably be spending about the same (and probably getting something not much younger, with a lot more kms, and still with significantly too much tray behind the axle).
There are a number of places in Qld that do such mods ... but I can't find details of anyone in Melbourne ... any leads?
Other thoughts / options?
I've seen a pic of a Triton dual cab extended to fit a club cab tub, and the proportions looked good to me (although I'd be opting for a tray).
