I'm been getting 8km/l (12.5 l per 100km) regularly at 100kmh highway driving (that's 600km from full tank).
The car was suffering severe loss of power which was fixed under warrant with new fuel pump and suction control valve.
However the poor fuel economy remains.
Can anyone recommend a Triton mechanic that can resolve this issue?
I forgot to mention that I'm in Melbourne. So I'm looking for a Triton guru in Melb.
Also the 12.5 l per 100km highway cycle at 100kmh is the best achieved. Triton has standard 16” Duellers and a steel canopy with 125,000km. I've done exactly the same trips in a Nissan Navara D40 ST Dual Cab 5sp auto 4x4 2.5DT with 145,000Km, which I believe is the same engine as the Triton, and the Navara returned 9l per 100Km.
So I thought the difference in consumption was mostly due to the old 4sp vs the modern 5sp auto.
I'm starting to wonder whether the Triton fuel specs were ever achievable??
