Boy there sure are some clangers in this issue.

Loved the bashplate comments  .

"Lack of use of the 4wd system is a killer...." WTF, never heard of an issue with a Triton.....?

Heaps of gems in this issue in other areas as well:roll:

Section on exhausts: "The gases go through the catalytic converter, where some of the heavier metals are filtered out". Classic 4wd Action bullshit...

I did read that the Disco 4 is no longer fitted with a dipstick for the engine oil  . Relying instead on an oil level sensor... What a POS! Great when the dealer overfills - you would never know until oil spewed forth everywhere. Keeping the best of the British traditions I guess.

I tend to skim through very quickly indeed now...

Anyone heard of the ML VRX Triton? According to 4WD Inaction it is an ML V6 with a 5spd tiptronic auto.

Yeah there's been one or two. But what can you do? If there's crap between the covers it's a bit hard to hide. I tend to buy them for the pictures and the ads these days, the actual content is usually a bit sad.

I have to agree CD... I got two DVD's with the issue 171 - and another magazine ... Camper trailers, which I'm interested in...

First turned to page 181 - ho hum ... LEPG Tritons... You get tired of them after a while

My missus loves the DVD's... which is surprising... she likes Alan - "Has Alan been on yet"

He's definitely a rough old bloke .. but I reckon he knows the right end of a spanner...Makes me laugh..

I guess its the same as being interested in any hobby.... You are never going to be happy with someone else's opinion... but it's better than what is on the TV right now...

problem is, can they read, because they cannot write.

and the guys only seem to come here to ask for some people to write about- not do any research or add anything- and there have been at least 4 or 5 different guys come through- sounds like the "dream job"

You have to wonder though. How can they get the info so wrong? No research, no understanding whatsoever.

I'd be embarrassed to publish the stuff they put out. Tech articles that are woeful, details on vehicles which are obviously made up...

As I said in an earlier post, I skim through it pretty quickly these days. Same rehashed stories etc.

They could do a lot better.

What about starting up a "new4x4.net" mag... There's enough wisdom in the newtriton and newhilux camps to fill pages with useful stuff... Just look at the forums!

Just to clarify... I don't give a sh!t if the writers from a magazine see what we think of their publication... I honestly think it should keep them on their toes :?

I think it was 26 said that certain members (from various magazines) just blow through the NTN site looking for an easy story...

end rant
