Mine is all over the place... My house is 145m above sea level, the factory altimeter will read between 50 and 300m with it usually reading above in colder weather...

They only claim accuracy to Plus or Minus 50 metres. It is based on a barometer and high or low atmospheric pressure will change the accuracy as well.

Radio is the only accurate reading on the useless pos.
Remove it and put something useful in it's place.

This is the same unit that is (was?) in the Pajero and I notice that it is doing the same as the Pajero did i.e readings way out. My solution was to drive to the coast (not just for this) and get right down to sea level. The altimeter read zero and on return to Canberra (and thereafter) it was reasonably accurate.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

Let's face it, is any of the information shown on that thing anywhere near accurate
I was contemplating moving the unit to where the CD player is once I install the VMS unit but the again why bother if it not accurate anyway!
That reminds me, I am sure I have seen a photo somewhere on here of the relocation of the factory computer to where the CD is - can anyone give me some clues where I might have seen it?

Smeghead moved it further down to the spot where the ciggie lighter is. It's too big to put in the one din slot of the cd player I think
