GLX-R Premium Sound System Speakers x 8 ?

Ok, can someone please tell me where speakers 7 and 8 are. I can find the 2 tweeters, 2 in front door and of course 2 in rear door, so where is 7 and 8. I am presuming there are 8 as that is what the Triton brochure says.

I think just inside the front doors (level with the external rear view mirrors)....... Unless these are the tweeters......

Gave my dealer a ring because I love hearing them struggle talking about the cars they sell. They had no idea where the last 2 are either. His brochure said that the 8 speaker system was only on diesel GLX-R's though. Not V6. This is not what the website says though just to prove he's an idiot

Im interested to know as well, so I've posed the question to MMLA...see what they come back with.

I don't know about the V6, but I have the Diesel and I have just checked the brochure and it says 8 for GLX-R V6 and Diesel.

I have just rang the Mistu Customer care line and they have no idea either.

Ok, I just rung Klosters in Newcastle and this guy that I spoke to said that the 2 in the back doors are probably "Dual Voice Code" speakers which helps them add up to 8. I have never heard of this till now, I have seen car speakers which themself have a mid range and a low range combined so I dont know if this is it or not. We need a speaker guy to answer maybe.

I wouldn't bet on that. Although, the lack of speakers is a significant safety issue unlike the power steering pump dropout in earlier versions.

At a guess they're probably two-way speakers down in the doors, meaning they have a sub at the rear, and a mid-range speaker floating above it - something like this



This is cheating so to speak, and does not make two speakers in my opinion. I've got an MY09 VR and I'm satisfied with the speakers when using an ipod via direct cable connect..

Pull the wiring off the ones you can find then turn the stereo up. Trace the sound like that if you really need to find them.

I got a call from MMLA on Friday arvo & the lovely (albeit dumb as a box of nails) girl told me that the Diesel models & the model 'up' from the GLX-R's have the 8 speaker system.

Im happy with 6 speakers, but I think I'll invest in the 15 speaker system that tritonstu is getting!

it's easy as, apparently a 3 way speaker classifies as three individual speakers. Three ways in the front doors and rear doors (thats already 12) plus factory tweeters and a sub. Look out chapel st here comes stu

Adz, the million $ question but was - Where are the 8 speakers dear lovely one ? Do you need and excuse to talk to her again ?

There is a girl at Klosters Newcastle who is an absolute honey from toes all the way to the top of her head and she has great "Car Sales Girl" dress sense (exploit the main parts ) and she knew more about the Triton than any fella in Newcastle that I came across, not one person could even tell me anything about Super Select, yet she new all about it, I think I might have to go and personally ask her to show me where the 8 speakers are.

let me correct myself Tri, SalesFella, seriously I was blinded by her knowledge and her intellectual assets , where all the SalesFella's can do is say "go to the website and download the brochure...na, no such thing as Super Select for Tritons..."
