Wiring light bar with 3 input wires

Wiring light bar with 3 input wires

Hey guys

I have bought a new dual colour light bar to replace existing spotlights. I was planning to use my existing wiring harness but found out there is a harness for the bar which has an "intelligent controller" and second remote to control colour and strobe features. I don't really want to install one of these if I dont have to.

The light bar has three input wires. Red, Black and White.

Red: Positive electrode
White: Position light
Black: White keylight

Can anyone clarify where each of these go? I presume that without the "intelligent controller" one of these is redundant.

Also, the box indicates there are 8 beam modes but as far as I can tell there is no way to change beam modes (even with the intelligent controller)?? I am only interested in full power to flood and spot anyway.

Not to worry, as I thought one of the wires was just for the yellow beam so I have taped it up out of the way. Pretty ordinary light bar though so I am going to spend the money and get something with more oomph.
