Honestly, I've got no idea. All I know is that the sound quality is phenomenally better and the level is much higher from the standard unit. The 3M25 has a much tinnier sound and next to no bass response, and when you try and boost the lower frequencies it just distorts. On the 3E45 setting the sound is much fuller, and the treble isn't as "in-your-face". The bass response is a lot better and the actual sound level is higher (used to consider 16 quiet, now it'll get down to 12 to have the same effect).

Yeah it's definitely altering the sound stage somehow I just can't put my finger on it. In mine it sounds like it is shifting the fader back towards the rear of the vehicle but that doesn't show up in the fader settings. It sounds more echoey if there's such a word. But yeah more low end oomph for sure. I haven't decided yet if I like it or not. Inevitably the results must vary with different amp/speaker combinations and possibly even with different seat material and so on, so what works for you may not work as well for me.

One day we need an MMCS meetup to compare the sound quality of the different setups. 8-) Mine is still able to induce pain so I figure it's probably loud enough.

Has anyone had the same problem as me. When i play music through my iphone 4s i get a very strong tick tick type noise through the speakers after a couple of minutes. My ipod doesn't make this sound only my new iphone. Are there any settings or has anyone else notice this. Its pretty annoying and you basically can't listen to the music.

Has anyone worked out how to load their contacts onto the MMCS? Every time I try to get it to load, it says to "send the address book" and disconnects the bluetooth... I've got no idea how to send the address book on a Desire HD, so anyone with experience please help :D

I'm still waiting for my ResourceIT override kit and iPod connector to arrive, ordered in January

I'll shoot through another email now and see what's happening.

Taming the MMCS

Postby daryn on Mon May 21, 2012 12:20 pm

Thanks Fraz, I'm just unsure of his commitment to his product.

I want to turf this mmcs but it is tied to deeply into the rockford fosgate system I have.

I have already tried to install a new head unit to no avail.

By forever I mean I'd given up and assumed mine got lost in the post or something. I couldn't even tell you how long. Could even have been a year. He finally emailed to say he'd been reconciling his records and might not have sent it to me. Turned up a couple of weeks after that.

Hi all, this has been a very interesting and informative thread. I'm looking at installing a reversing camera and running it through my MMCS, I'll have to find myself a lancer harness by the sounds of it, keen on one of those iPod connectors too. Has anyone tried connecting a different camera to the one that comes with the lancer harness? Also are there any more detailed maps then the where is maps that will work in the MMCS? Something that shows the 4wd tracks around the place?

I used a non genuine camera with mine. The only catch is that the head unit only puts out 6 volts so you need a camera that can work with that. You need to work out which wires from the harness go with which wires on the camera - it won't just plug and play obviously. That said there are only 5 wires in the plug and 4 from the camera from memory so it's not that hard.

As far as I know there are no non-genuine maps that work. There might be some updated copies of the disc out there in torrent land if you're brave but be sure to keep the original disc as you'll need it next time the battery gets disconnected - allegedly. This won't help much with non-gazetted off road tracks though.

I have a genuine ipod cable somewhere if you're interested. I went with the resourceit cable in the end mainly for the extra button so that I can use the touchscreen while mobile. The genuine cable was $120 odd when I bought mine :o

CD & everyone else,

ResourceIT is basically now just a figment of our imagination, the guy who made the cables does not respond to any calls at all and hasnt done for whole of this year as far as I know.

So that option for an iPod cable and also for getting access to controls on the go is no longer. A company in Japan has been found that is into this stuff:

You need to find out current part numbers and get some pictures of the cables to see which model is compatible with the unit installed in the Australian Triton.

I think the camera voltage is 5 not 6 too, not sure if 1v makes a difference anyway.

How many ppl out there want an override? I'm sure if a group was organized that might sway the man to make a couple.

It's only cables, connectors, circuit board and a 555 timer circuit with solder to suit

I was/am keen on the iPod connector and over ride unit if that idea goes ahead Jamo. Thanks for the info on the camera too. There's a neat little camera unit at Jcar I'm looking at, I'll have to look at the voltage though. Cheers for that other site Daryn, I'll go have a look at their wears now.
