How it hopefully should look. For future reference the shield wires for microphone, reverse camera and aux video input are all copper with a clear sheath rather than as described in the workshop manual.

Will replace some fuses, cross my fingers and plug it in...

Okay so I plugged it in and it worked.

So, lesson learned and I stop playing with it, or now I play with it with new found impunity because I know how to put it back together?

Hi guys, does anyone know who can service a mmcs, kenwood dealer? after the mechanic disconnected the battery i needed to do the usual 'insert map cd' ie; take out updated cd and put in original cd. However i had the screen up and pressed the 4 corners, once realising the cd couldnt eject i tilted screen and ejected but some thing major must of happen internally and it just keeps spinning inside. I have to jam another map cd in to drag the other one out. So im thinking a repairer than a very expensive original unit or an aftermarket unit but not sure if all steering wheel controls will work.

I thought the eject over ride was tilt screen and tap the top right?

I've got the full kenwood service manual somewhere so let me know if you need it. Pretty sure it has details of how to pull it apart.

Thanks cd, i think i mite if thats ok. I think i found the problem. I suspect the mechanic has tried forcing my old map disc in and has broken the little door/flap behind the dust curtain which is stopping the disc from being fully inserted.
Im struggling to find any serice/repair places, i wonder where mitshubishi send them.

I doubt they send them anywhere mate, probably just replace them if they fail.

Can you pm me a reminder? Too sleepy now to remember tomorrow.

nav volume is in the setup of the map area
only need to go into the secret area for other stuff like bluetooth volume

there is to options for secret area

on screen powered off
hit middle screen top then bottom 3 times
so top ,bottom, top, bottom, top, bottom, left, right all in middle of side of screen

For the record, i have the MMCS out of my ute in the shed if anyone wants it.
GPS cable is questionable (its been few beers since ive looked at it)
PM me for Deets i'll power it up and flick some photos.

Ipod cable was tied in with the GPS over ride, the over ride started to play up with the Ipod charging so i opted for Single DIN head unit and UHF, i use the Ipad for maps and music

Just for future thought, although i've moved to landcruiser country i still like to keep a watch on this thread and all triton news as my mn was the best car ive owned. Anyway before selling i stuffed my mmcs by i think ejecting the disc while the face was half down. It stuffed all the inside bits.
To fix it i found www.electronicrepairs.com.au/index.php/ ... bishi-mmcs
Also known as supertech electronics in brisbane. They fixed it all for around $450 including freight to melb. If they couldn't fix it, they offered around $650 change over. Great service and i thought maybe useful for someone down the track.

Just wondering if anyone out there has been able to hook a mitsi camera into their mmcs? All the posts i read relate to the version 1 mmcs and i have a version 2 in an mn glxr warrior. Ive been told by a mitsi dealership it cant be done, another said it can for $595 and a car audio specialist said they can just tap into one of the existing harnesses.
