A mate of mine has the Fyrlyts on his Cruiser. They seem pretty good, didn't blow my dick off or anything, but yeah decent enough.

I hear you is there some sort of commercial arrangement that has been made ? Surely a few free / cheap sets have not bought anyone................

Sorry if i have offended you mate. :| my point was he was quoting a $600 cost for the lights. I know these can be bought for $227 each + postage which is about 25% cheaper than what he thought they cost.

I'll keep that shit to myself from now on.

cheers.

No Offence taken, I am just at a loss to why people would be talking up a product that requires such huge amperage to run over a German made tried & tested HID product for the same price ?

I too will now get back in my box :?

Not too much wrong with the Oscars. Old tech but still excellent lights. Oscar+ are a bit ordinary but Oscar and Super Oscar have better beam control than most modern lights and they're 30 odd years old. I've had them in halogen but I reckon they'd make pretty good candidates for HID conversion although an upgrade to a better quality bulb can make a big difference to them, too.

Reflectors are pressed/stamped metal and do get a bit tired after a few years because the lights are not water or dust proof. It is possible to make a boot to fit over the back and delay the degradation of the reflector surface.

Valeo let the brand languish for a long time but they are now starting to develop and release some fairly impressive led driving lights. Expect more from this brand in the future.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

Huge amperage? 25 amps for the pair is hardly huge in the scheme of things.

What is German made? The Narva Ultimas you mean? Fyrlyts I think claim to be made in Australia so they've got that going for them. Halogen can be better than HID in some circumstances (instant on for example) but that's an argument for another day.

Seriously though, you should look back at your other post. You were basically suggesting that those touting what is an excellent light must have got some sort of contra or payment for expressing an opinion. That's a bit shit to be honest.

Ta Chris. At least somebody has an open mind

Love that car
Love those Cibie's

Being a pressed reflector and metal body you can run 130W globes in them without an issue.

The Oscars went with the silver ute. They were the set signed by Noah as well.
I must admit the reflectors were stating to deteriorate though. $80 for new reflectors if I was that way inclined

I will probably get a set of super Oscars in flood, add better globes and toss the light bar that come mounted on the white ute..........................
Sometime

So easy to create a furore around here

All jokes aside, I was running the oscars for quite a few years and not long ago gave them a bit of love, I now have the LED lightbar but she is nowhere near as good as what the oscars were,

Not a lot of current compared to a lift elevator. But a lot compared to other lights, backed up by the size cable needed.
As for being a bit shit, well Just seemed confusing, we would not be suggesting a very new brand of anything over existing proven product for the same price for another product.

Hi Guys

Ive already got a set of 35 HID driving lights... just wondering if this led bar would be good? I was one for going bush/ hunting and fishing... when the HID's are no good to me?
