Npc clutch

Postby Outlaw200 on Tue Jul 04, 2017 5:24 pm

Hi guys, Iv been modding my ml 3.2 and I'm at the point of needing a clutch. Is the Npc clutch that comes with a fly wheel the best option? $1400 tho. There doesn't appear to be much out there to suit the 3.2. I'm thinking a exedy h/d won't last long?
Already fitted 3" to4 and a hks, possibly a bigger cooler then dyno

NPC are pricey but damn good clutches mate. Thats my next clutch when mine eventually goes in my ML 3.2. Heaps of 200hp / 500nm+ modded bruisers and pootrols run them over here in WA.

I have been running a single plate NPC clutch in my 500+hp jap car for 5 years no problems. Cant go wrong

I have a land cruiser clutch in my 3.2L ML from NPC. It has been abused and is still rock solid. Pedal feels a slight bit heavier but I only notice it when stuck in traffic for extended periods.
I know who I'll be calling if I ever need another clutch!

I'm guessing the cruiser clutch is the 1 that comes with the fly wheel?

Unsure. I sent them my flywheel from Townsville so they could re drill and machine to suit when I did mine. But I was only the second vehicle they had tried it on back then. They may have refined the setup since then possibly.
Talk to them they know their shit and made me feel happy/confident I was getting what I needed when I handed over the $$$.

I ran an exedy with a tuned mn 205hp/500nm with no issues, did a lot of towing and 4wding, traded at 105K km and driveline was still strong. Clamping force aside, the clutch got a much easier life after the tune as there was no need to slip it to take off, could just step off it and the Triton would pull from just over idle.
