Does anyone know what the difference is between the 2WD and the 4WD MN Diesel flywheel?

You would think they would be the same, but I have just discovered they have different part numbers.

I bought a 2WD one :?

I don't know if mine is going to be OK, so I decided to bite the bullet and fit all new stuff. I suspect it will have some pretty nasty hot spots, and they don't always machine out.

The bell housing is like a Pandora's box - once open. (lots of luck)

I was planning to have a new FW on hand when I finally replace the clutch. Saves down time and everything should be back to new spec.

If the 2wd version has different PN, it may be different where it mates to the crankshaft, eg bolt size, pitch, etc.

I can't see them using a different crankshaft, I'm thinking it probably has to do with the thickness of the flywheel. The 2WD one weighs 7kg more than the 4WD one

Is the 4WD one a dual mass flywheel?

I wonder if anyone has a flywheel lying around that they could take some measurements from......

We the C day is looking.

Have bought a new flywheel (best price at auto bar ).

Now to find the best clutch deal.

A good suggestion I read was to use an engine crane through the door to hold up the gearbox (more for safety).

I haven't got room for this, but will use a heavy duty ratchet strap as a safety. Don't want to get flattened by the bigger if it fell off a cradle or Jack.

If I can move it out of the way, may be opportunity to give the tunnel a good coat of body reached.
