Had the same problem with my ML the light flashing all the time when I bought it (was s/hand 62,000km) dealer put new solenoids in 7 months 8,000k ago no flashing since. Turn key on all warning & 4wd lights come on for a few seconds then go off, Pajero does the same some sort of self check thing that they do. :D :D

Once the engine has been running for a while the vacuum builds up and the light goes out.

correct , there is a spring on the "hubs engaged" side of the diaphragm that makes it failsafe to hubs engaged.

upon engine starting the solinoids will port the vacuum to the "hubs disengaged" side of the diaphragm therefore disengaging the hubs.

if the light continues to flash after driving a meter of so you could have an issue with your actuator, otherwise its normal.

Caused by vacuum hose coming off behind headlight.

Pushed it back on and all is fine.

Either one of your hoses are loose or split somewhere.

Brad

well had mine fixed again today and this was the prob first time was the solanoid
