Sophisticated programming software (such as EcuTeK for Subarus and LS1 Edit for Holden/Chev Gen IIIs) give adjustment over various automatic shift properties. We suggest that you contact specialist tuners of your vehicle to see what’s possible.

thanks Sierra.

here is an excerpt from the two part article.....

"Factory ECU Recalibration?
If you currently have an electronic-controlled transmission that you want to improve, it’s possible that the car’s trans control unit can be reprogrammed to give the desired results.

But you’ll only be able to do this if you own a popular car with an ECU that has been fully ‘hacked’.

Sophisticated programming software (such as EcuTeK for Subarus and LS1 Edit for Holden/Chev Gen IIIs) give adjustment over various automatic shift properties. What you can adjust will vary depending on the vehicle and the type of rewriting software being used.

We suggest that you contact specialist tuners of your vehicle to see what’s possible. "

Hey Guys!

Sorry for the delay, 2 days home and crook apparently meant no internet either :(

ECUTEK at this stage has no access to any of the line pressure maps that I have seen in other systems (like the BA onward ford 6 and 8cyl for example which gives you direct and indirect access). That is not to say I won't but ECUTEK will generally give us everything they see as important and I'm sure if it were there they wouldn't be holding out on me.

I am yet to get my hands on a suitbale and useful workshop / service manual for this car to work out what does what - As in is there a seperate controller for the auto specifically... There was a link toa rapid share doc on here that I found but it was either corrupt or missing all the good wiring info I was preying for - Anyone else got a copy for me to start procrasticating over???

TO me Auto's have always been a little 'black box'ish and I've been quoted many times referring to them as a black art, however if we get control I'm sure there are imporvemetns to be had!

Kind Regards
Chris

Chris,

can you run a query specific to the Triton auto past ECUTEK?

cant hurt asking and it might save significant dollars on a separate TC controller.

No need - I've done the necesary homework and its a different control system.

There is info that feeds back from the ECU to the trans controller but that's where the link ends. the Engine ECU is a CAN bus system where as the trans controller (where ever or whatever it is - Not that I've found it yet) doesn't appear to be.

Still need that workshop manual if anyone has it cause I got some more looking and head scratching to do! A Khanacross over the weekend really highlifted some of the issues with the factory system and I'm now in 'Gotta do something' mode but hands are tied until I have some technical drawing of the factory controller etc...

Kind Regards
Chris

I don't know if this is the one you are looking for?

Would like to work out how to alter the auto a little as you guys are discussing. Hope V6 is same as the diesel?
I hate to advocate drugs, sex, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

Thanks MAte - I tried and downloaded all of that and I do't know if its just my copy or the doc but its missing all the wiring info which is what I need. I usually have insiders at my beck and clal with manufacturers but they're dihggin up nothing usefull at the moment
