TC done right does work very well so maybe it's not done right on these?

The ASC was disabled when testing right?

Sounds like we have the beginnings of a potential trip or two :) just to settle the argument of course...not to get together and drink p$ss or anything....

And it's gooses for gawds sake...you don't call 2 mouses, meeces do you

 not even going to try to get into a english course with you homer.... (mice, geese... i leave it there :P )

I like the idea of a trip at easter and yep naffster is in control of bumping that back up again ;)

We have a few options coming to lithgow so if we all time out from being too silly maybe we will do a proper test of sorts as well... maybe wont live up to your stringent testing program but we give it a shot none the less (even record pressures with a control guage just to tickle your fancy!)

JESUS! I did open a can of worms. Love the chatter but. All interesting stuff.
What about any members from good old Vic? Seems to be all NSW and Qlders on here. Where do we go for a weekend of trucks and piss drinking? Any Viccos out there? High country?

does anyone know what "version" of TC the triton is running in comparison to the Pajero?

Reason I ask is I have wheeled with a few shorty Paj's with traction control and they work very well.

maybe its a fault with the drum rear brakes- (QLDer full of geraldine mud- would effect braking)

Also has anyone ever adjusted the brake proportioning valve when they have lifted a triton (assuming the triton has one)

technical questions on the triton forum- who'd have thunked?????

VIC - Salt36
NSW - al coholic
QLD - Joe (me)

If you're from SA and then you join the VICS, if you're from WA then you just complain about the lack of trips and if you're from Tassie ..... well move.

I could be wrong but heard that the traction control is basically the 1st generation of the system . :?

The Triton's (at least the GLX-R's ) don't run a proportioning valve as they have ABS and brake force distribution
or something like that .

anyway still undecided front or back... front would be best to upgrade cv's at same time so even more exxy...

aftermarket rear sounds like a lot more fun on road in 2wd! (yeah hoon speak)

most used would be a rear locker in 4wd sitch? am I right?? does the front have a distinct advantage and where?

i am keen D!

BG, I'd go the rear ;) . In my old ride, a 90 model 4runa, IFS and lsd rear I ended fitting a 4wd systems front locka in after smashing 2 sets of front gears. I was running 33's and to many front tyre waves caused me greif each time the tyre came back down :( .
After I fitted the locka I was able to do a hell of a lot more without as much right foot action but your turning cirle becomes greater and steering heavier. This locka is a manual system, not air but was cheap and got me to places I thought I'd never drive (weeny creek :o :o )
With the MN I like the option to flick the switch when needed and you've seen this a few times and will see it alot more this weekend that it's the way to go.

Just keep your eye out for that wrecked, locked one you talk and probably dream about

I can confirm Sam's comments re this as i asked the brake specialist who replaced all my wheel studs and new rotors and pads. The ABS equipped ML has no proportioning valve.

The MK does - for any MK owners lurking here it may pay to adjust it mine was too baised to the front and some adjustment made braking much better.

I would add Boycee in SA to that list, but in the past there has often only been an echo when he shouts for trip buddy's :P

Much better turn out's now though with some top trips and interstate meetups with the Vics.

There's a Vic one on this weekend HERE if your interested..and quick mattnewbie :D

Interesting reading on the T/C side...trust friggen 26 to stuff up a good off topic with a topic related technical post :D that's if T/C relates to diff locks I guess....

All food for thought....would be good to hear from mitsiguy on some of this T/C stuff...if he's game now :x

All true. Best thing is to adjust the rear shoes right up. If they're tight enough and can lock up then the ABS will look after the proportioning. If they're too loose then you'll just get front lockup which the ABS will modify but you won't get maximum braking from the rear. Could mean the difference between stopping just short of the car in front or imprinting your driving light brand on the back of his head.

Through Woolgoolga and those little places with roundabouts on the pacific hwy back up for up to 5 k's at Christmas...at each one!
Same thing happens at all the 2 lanes back into one...was there last Christmas...took 40 minutes to travel 6 k's south to Woolgoolga township and beach  never again!

Thats the thing Homer, my supplier did say that he would recommend in hassling ARB them self for pricing if you want them to install it.

In NSW he would only recommend Macquarie 4x4 in Sydney and Out of Town 4wd in Newcastle as decent installers. So if you want them to install it, probably best to buy from them.

Diff specialists would be the other avenue but you will have to find a good one who has done them before and whether they do or someone else does the air/c bit.
