CIG, why does VSB14 ring a bell. Run it in an old Rangie here

Oi, this poll is biased, as Garth pointed out, there is no Locker with T/C option.

  I'm happy I've fulfilled the criteria  VSB14 states it must be operated from drivers position. Does welding it wile sitting in the drivers seat qualify. Can be disengaged by snapping an axle with the load pedal.

Sorry Daz

There is a message in this though. keep and eye on VSB14 ;)

Which Locker POLL ?

Postby daryn on Sun Sep 11, 2011 11:21 am

The topic title is locker not traction aid, so stop picking on me for leaving tc out ok. :)

You cannot add tc to a triton later, correct me if I am wrong.

LSD and T/C are both technically traction aids so not picking on you  Much

Correct, not feasible to add TC latter although is possible.

Great poll, cant beat real life opinions. 8-)

I just evened it up

Cant find rear locker with front TC option nor front locker with rear TC.

Which Locker POLL ?

I know what ya mean T, all I had in my head when making it was more the mechanical not the electronic, unfortunately after adding extra choices the poll kept resetting each time and we kept losing votes. Pain in the butt.

Does anyone know or have lokka in the rear? I've got lokka front n tossing up if I should go lokka rear soon instead of saving up and getting an air...the lokka is just so cheap in comparison it's hard to see past it if it would work ok...

Which Locker POLL ?

Auto lockers in the rear are awesome... Can change the onroad very low speed characteristic though... But my experience was with a short wheel base with a Detroit locker... I'm sure they have improved greatly.

I would not hesitate going an auto locker in the back... And same the extra coin for something else.

they don't make a "lokka" for the rear of a triton mate ;)
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything important, it's too late to stop reading it.

Sorry mate Kaiser are the mob I seen with an auto locker... Tuka did you have any probs with real slow stuff like turning around in the car park? This is my everyday driver so it still needs to be useable on road, of course I'm willing to put up with small compromises tho ;)

Which Locker POLL ?

Postby tukadafoonday on Mon Mar 05, 2012 5:04 am

I wouldn't say it was 'trouble' as such... It used to do some pretty funky things though.

Turning into car parks I would get wind up and then surge forward (never bad enough to hit a car but definitely seething to be mindful of)

Used to bang so loud it sounded like the diff was going to fall out.

Take this with a grain of salt though. I was in a 1984 land cruiser FJ40 short wheel base... So it was ruff as guts already. It used to turn on a dime which would have worked the locker harder in tight situations on the road.

I would install it again into the rear in a second... It worked, it was tough as anything and it made the truck drive 100% more tracks. Best of all like all auto lockers it had no air lines, compressors, solenoids or anything it was just there operating.

Check our Harrop lockers - they are the makers of the Detroit.

Hey Daz, any chance of a "TC + rear LSD" option? It practically works as a rear locker

I think if I change the poll it resets the numbers.

Lets just have your vote as a manual vote as Mooons has done.
