Priming new Turbo

Hi all, is there a good way to prime a new turbo and oil feed lines? Ive read a few articles saying to disconnect the fuel and crank it but something doesnt sit right with common rail injectors not getting fuel (lube) for a period of time.. or am i way off?

I'd just pump some engine oil into the oil entry on the turbo and spin the guts by hand, before installing it.

That should leave enough lube until the normal oil circuit supplies oil.

The oil pump is going to get oil there quickest when the engine is running. From cold, start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. If the oil light in the instrument cluster is off, then the system is up to pressure and delivering lube.

As with any new component, don't flog it for a few KMs.
Don't let the b'strds get you down!!
