mn triton dash pocket removal

Has anyone else had trouble removing the dash pocket under the ac controls i have removed the dash on the sides but cant find any screws holding it in, looks like some sort of plastic plugs that i cant work out how to remove. Does anyone have any tips or pics to help me out. Thanks

You need to remove the whole centre dash cover thing. Have a look here:

If you've removed the dash cover then you should see a pair of screws on either side holding a galvanised bracket. This L bracket is attached to the dash pocket so unscrew the brackets from the front and you'll be able to remove the pocket and then unscrew it from the brackets on the side.

Pretty sure this was how I got mine out...

i wiggled mine untill the plastic broke and then pulled it out. it worked

I gave up and drilled a hole in the back of it for my scangauge cable.

Thanks for your help. From looking at the photos it looks like the bottom facia is only cliped in i will see what happens when i get home.

Correct. All clips. I find it easier to dislodge starting from the bottom corners as that's the easiest to grab hold of. Just be aware of the cables running to the rear window switch and cigarette lighter as well as the little globe above them.

You can release each of those by feel once you get movement in it by sticking your hand in from the driver's side. The globe comes out with maybe a 1/4 turn anticlockwise

Buy some spare clips. You will definitely break some getting it out.

All good facia came off easy just had to undo the bit under the steering wheel and gave it a pull it came straight out very easy

Yeah it is more getting up the courage that wrenching it off is going to work. Once you get past that it's not that bad.
