Has Anyone seen, heard, used these?

http://www.secondair.com.au/

Just a question might be something that those that want to run really low pressures to consider and APPARENTLY completely legal

ANY STRUCTURAL MODIFICATION TO A WHEEL IS ILLEGAL IN
AUSTRALIA, YEP, EVEN DRILLING A SINGLE HOLE IN IT FOR A
PNEUMATIC BEADLOCK. THE COMMON MISCONCEPTION OUT
THERE IS THAT PNEUMATIC BEADLOCKS ARE ROAD LEGAL WHILE
EXTERNAL BEADLOCKS ARE ILLEGAL, THIS IS PROBABLY FUELLED
BY THE KNOWLEDGE THAT NO
ONE HAS YET RECEIVED A
DEFECT NOTICE ON THE BASIS OF RUNNING INTERNAL
BEADLOCKS (NO DOUBT DUE TO THEIR RELATIVE INVISIBILITY)

IF YOU FOLLOW THE RULE OF LAW BOTH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL
BEADLOCKS ARE ILLEGAL BECAUSE BOTH INVOLVE STRUCTURAL
MODIFICATION TO THE RIM
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???

So would this be in line with the (not suggested) wheel spacers being only for offroad use. From what I understand both would be illegal due to exceeding wheel track and altering of tire structure. Note I would never suggest anyone use the wheel spacers as I have heard of a few coming loose.

you could say that but if your altering tyre pressures from what’s stated on the manufactures plate your insurance probably isn't going to cover you if that’s the cause of the accident, same goes for the internal bead lock system...same with bigger then stated tyres and a lot of other shit everyone does, police don't really give a shit its more insurance you should worry about if the need arises.

Just also wonder how these bead lockers might affect wheel balance.

Surely, and I am just saying here, that you could get the bead lockers and then get your wheels balanced, thereby solving any balance issues caused? :)

According to the website they don't adversely affect the wheel balancing because the are uniformly across & around the wheel...

Quote " SecondAir weigh less then 1.5kg each and being distributed completely over & around the wheelrim inside the tyre present no problem with wheel balance." end quote
