Help please

Postby Greg Cairns on Thu Jun 13, 2013 4:41 pm

Hi Everyone have just seen these on gumtree and would like to know if they would fit my ML VR 08 model.

5x TYRES & RIMS SUITABLE FOR SR HILUX [205R16C 8PR 110/108S].

Thanks in advance.

Why so narrow a tyre? I thought 245 was standard for a Triton? I guess some of the 2wd might have narrower tyres.

I don't think you can be sure the rims will fit without knowing whether all hiluxes have the right PCD and what the offset will be.

yes they will fit but do not have a load rating sufficient for the triton.

and they would look like pram wheels under the VR triton guards and flares

205 being the width ;)

You need a 16x7 rim. They are on a lot of newer dual cab utes. The 205's you posted above would be on a 16x6.5 or 16x5 rim.

Otherwise can buy sunnies for around $75 per corner in either white of black.

open yourself to the whole of Australia.
using ego (or similar) freight company should cost less than $200 depot to depot from anywhere to Cairns. Brisbane to Cairns should be $100 for 4 rims and tyres ;) based on me having purchased and freighted rims and tyres from Adelaide and Perth in the past

Can anyone please tell me if there is any reason why I can't or shouldnt use the15" rim with 31" muddies for a part time offroad tyre for my mn triton, assuming they fit?

There aren't many 15" rims that will clear your front calipers

Also, if you do manage to find a 15" rim that fits, you will find that the tyres will squirm a bit more than a similar sized tyre on a 16" rim.

For a 31" it isn't as bad as bigger tyres on 15's, but still worth noting.

Thanks for that. So it might be worth a try and see re the calipers and the squriming. As a positive though they would have less weight/inertia.

As a rule of thumb, you will find that a 15" tyre will have more rotational mass than at 16" tyre of the same height/make.
