Snow chains - compatible tyres

Had a search around but no definitive max tyre sizes that can still be fitted with chains.

Will chains clear with 265 75 16 on standard suspension?

Have you used chains before?
They don't increase the overall size much at all.
The main part they will have an issue clearing will be the front mud flaps
Unfortunately there won't be a definitive answer due to variation in suspension sag from vehicle to vehicle. Plus the later models have a higher ride height.

I suggest you hire chains before you head to a resort. There are many places that hire chains in major towns and regional centres, but 4wd sizes are harder to acquire. So it's better not to leave it to the last minute. When you hire chains they have to show you how to fit them. Get them to show you on your vehicle so you can check the clearances.
There's plenty of snow around at the moment. Where are you heading?

Hello Mattz

Have used chains on cars years ago.

My concern is the reduction in clearances with the larger tyres.
