what offset to run 32's without scrubbing?

Need something to get you rolling?

what offset to run 32's without scrubbing?

Postby 85HiluxSR5 on Thu Jul 09, 2009 12:31 pm

I am down to getting either Mickey Thompson MTZ or Maxxis bighorns in a 265/75R16.

Went to the tyre shop and they seem to think i will still scrub and need to take the mudflaps off, they are getting me 16x7 steelies with a 28+ offset,

is this what you guys are running for 32's without hassels or do i need a different offset?

Thanks
Ben

I run a +20 offset with no scrubbing.

You should be sweet with +28 being that is closer to factory offset

Just out of curiosity 85Hilux, what brand steelies did you get?

I just spoke to some blokes here in Canberra & apparently the speedy version (Desert Rat) of the sunnies in 16x7 are not being sold to people who own 08+ tritons...due to the bore size (centre hole) not being big enough! :?

Why are you changing the wheels? I'm running the stock wheels with 265/75R16 MTR's and stock suspension and even after bottoming out the front end very hard, they haven't touched anywhere.

because we all have different taste in how we like our cars and i prefer the steel wheel look to the standard rim look

My main reason for changing is because I currently have 17" rims (stock std) & the cost of mud tyres is around $100 more than 16"...plus if I bang up a 100 buck steelie, its cheaper than having to replace the stock rim (SEE HERE)
Also there is a lot more range of 16" 4wd tyres than there are 17".

I'm running a +28 sunraysia style steel rim with 265 75 16 BFG MT's with no problem at all. I've got a few pics in my shed if you want to see.
