Hi,
Just got MN GLX-R and have put 265/65/17 ATR Cooper tyres on original rims. Anyone see any issues with this?

Shouldn't you have asked before you had them installed?
White Auto MN Triton

Baysies Bash Plates
Rhino Lining
Coopers ST 245/70R17
Wet Seat Covers

First tank of diesel 502km from 60L = 11.95L/100km

Plenty of mods to come (how bad will the consumption get with barwork etc?) :\

No issues at all Broady with 265's on std car, 285's would have rubbed and are better suited to lifted Tritons.

I just put 265/65 17 Geolanders on my MN and no problems. Got go ahead from insurer once I had edumufcated them on NCOP 11 LS dealing with steering and suspension which the ACT RTA follows. Just make sure the load rating and speed rating are at least 111 S or above.

"The overall diameter of any tyre fitted to an off-road passenger vehicle or commercial vehicle must not be more than 50mm larger or 26mm smaller than than of any tyre designated by the vehicle manufacturer for that model." Page 16 of NCOP 11 LS

I'm guessing that is what jasduf is referring to - in which case, why do all the tyre places make such a fuss about putting these bigger tyres on? Lack of understanding? Or does the NCOP only apply to certain states (doesn't make sense since it is NATIONAL Code of Practice).

After 15,000km I think my BFGs might be down to about 51mm larger  I'll ring up the insurance company and let them know about the tyres in another 5,000 km.

26mm is generally the smallest you can go for both passanger and offroad vehicles but QLD'ers are still stuck in Joh time    so I suspect they will catch up in the next decade or two.

Not all states have adopted the ADRs and NCOP however most are in the process. The biggest issue I found was the the vehicle manufacturer rim bible the tyre places use states MN's have a 7' rim when infact they are 7.5'. Once I pulled up the MMAL site and showed the standard fitment is 7.5' they were ok with it.

My tyre place said "why don't you go for the 275/70's" And I have the 7" rims :?

So I did.
