bfg km2 285/75/16

Hey guys got some new muddies on this week and the suspension lift and new procomp rims.

Trucks looking pretty good now

The tyres are bfg mud terrain km2's 285/75/16

these new km2s are meant to be a lot quieter than the old bfg mud terrains I’d never had these but have been in a car with the MT muddies on and these are a bit quieter than those.

The plastic guard had to be cut a little bit in the back of the front wheel arches

Rim sizes are 16" x 8" with 0 offsets they do sit out a bit

The biggest problem is the spare wheel doesn’t fit haven’t figured that one out yet just have one of the stock alloys under there at the moment.

I got tough dog suspension which is meant to be a 1" lift BUT it looks a lot higher than that I believe the stock suspension had sagged ALOT so there’s a bit of climbing to get in now lol

All in all I’m very happy with the work and can’t wait to get out and give them a crack in some mud

nice- not quite as bad as I expected.

About 25mm from when I run the same offset and 235 wide tyres (they are level with the guards)

i didnt just chucked it in the shed supposedly it hit the diff or something else cant remember what he said ill have a play around with it later i was thinking if i still cant get it up there i wonder if i deflat it will it fit then and just pump it up if i ever need it...

Yep your right there sim_r32 they do hit the rear of the diff.
I just do what you said, let all the air out of it and squash it up there, it's still a tight fit!!
If you can't afford the wide flairs the rubber ones work well
You will need something added to them, when it rains they flick the water into the window.
As they are they would not be legal in NSW

Mine rubbed quite a bit when on full lock (the outer edges) front passenger side was the worst, it rubbed through the inside guard and almost into the pump motor for the washer bottle.
All fixed now after the lift, I finally got the chance to give it a test run last weekend (Ophir gold mines Bathurst)
My off set is the same as yours.
I have to agree with the others the wide flares would look good
I just have to convince the minister for finances!!

Don't forget ultimate are doing a 3.5 " smart lift for the triton which could be the go over a body lift

how come you didnt put in a 2" lift instead of the 1"?

umm i just go with the options the guys that work there give me and they said if ive got the coin to get the tough dog suspension and just get a body lift after (if i needed it) that which im pretty keen on and im really happy with the suspension i got its handling fantasic now oh yeah and didnt want to be on the bump stops.

Sim, the tyres and wheels look great - looks like i will have another set of used rims and tyres under the pagola.
Lucky the wife doesnt see all my cash supply.
Any chance of a measurement from centre rim to bottom side of flare just to compare..........

hey fonz the front is 58 cm and the back is 60 cm

i ended up getting the spare wheel in there just deflated it and brought a pump just put it behind the back seat when all the tyre changing gear is.

I just saw a Triton (L200 here in Mexico) with 285/75/16 tires, it wasn´t lift and looking carefuly I couldn´t seen any rubbing, great tire, looks so baaad. My 235/85/16 looked tiny in comparison

Sorry for digging up old post, but just after a bit of info. I'm looking at getting a set of bush tyres/wheels. I Got 2 inch lift and want to go 285/85/16. Still tossing up between steel and alloys. Wouldn't mind a bit of bling but will probably get up with black steelies (on white Triton GLX Dual cab Tray back). I am looking at some front flairs, and want to know more about the wider flairs you talk about.
Also when looking for rims for the Triton. Is it +38mm offset to fit the 33s? San anyone recommend and good websites I should be looking at?

Wider flares

285/75/16 tyres will fit on the standard rim offset of +38 (buzzy- stock rims, tricky devil- hummer rims - check out their sheds)

you can then go for wider offset rims- and that depends on stance, and having to add wider flares- either the ones above or garden edging type.

BTW there is a bit of a rule of thumb, for every inch increase in height you should look to increase track (width/ offset) by the same amount- stability, the fact it looks good as well

I'm thinking about fitting 285 75 16 on to my standard 2007 glxr triton it has no lift ATM will it be okay for a few weeks if not the 285 70 17 are 16mm smaller then the 285 75 16 will that 16mm help at all
