David.. or Chris..
I went to a tyre dealer ( in my case, Bob Jane in Osborne Park.. ask for Marius, tell him Niel sent you, he'll look after you ), told him I'm looking to buy 5 tires + rims, want to go bigger, more aggressive, but still drive comfortable on the road, etc etc.
Marius went to the extent as to first test-fit a number of rims I liked to see if they will clear the callipers, look good etc.. He then showed me a couple of different tyres, ON MY VEHICLE, to make sure that I get what I want, and liked, and still is legal.
If they know you're about to drop $2k with them, they should go out of their way to make sure you're happy.. if they don't, go somewhere else. In my case.. Marius provided such good service, that I'll probably never shop anywhere else, and refer everyone I know to him..

bengabby wrote:Hi there please bear with me as I am posting this for my husband and I may sound like I have no idea what I am talking about, truth is I don't. We have a 2012 MN GLX with road tyres on (245/70R16-111S) we have a spare set of rims and would like to put mud tyres on them (for when we are going off road). We were thinking of putting larger tyres on to get slightly more ground clearance. Any suggestions on sizes and brands etc would be appreciated, or should we just stick with the same size.
