Welcome to NewTriton.
Conundrum? Hardly. The question has been asked about a zillion times. I've moved your post here, but any of three or four other threads would have done.
Have a look here http://www.newtriton.net/phpbb/search.php?keywords=will+285s+fit&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
Also, if you haven't already, go through the other 285/75R16 threads in the Forum Directory, most of which have the answer to your question, which is yes.
You may not get flamed, but you won't get any support or sympathy here on the lift that you're intending to fit. Here it's either illegal, dangerous or both, with good reason and we don't recommend it at all. See this Search and, particularly, this post. I know it's not illegal in the UK and maybe Ireland as well, but failure of this type of modification has been the direct cause of some terribly tragic deaths in England, that I know of.
You may also want to consider that the Triton is intended to have a slightly nose down attitude and levelling it out can impact on both handling and fuel consumption.
There is a thread dedicated to pictures of wheels on Tritons. Possibly somewhat decimated by the Photobucket fiasco, but many pages to go through there.
