Put over weighbridge
Triton 2960 kg

fridgie wrote:Got my suspension fitted (finally) so its time to post some updated heights

measured before I drove it down for fitting

FD - 530
FP - 530

RP - 585

After picking it up today and driving roughly 60-70km

FD - 565
FP - 580
RD - 630
RP - 640

First time ever when measuring that I have not had it come out level :o Not too sure why the drivers side is sitting 10-15mm lower but will see how it goes once I've got some k's under it's belt. (Although I do have an inkling as to why this is so, lets just see what happens) Will give it a few days but if nothing changes may give Ultimate a call and look into it further, just doesnt seem quite right to me :?

Time for a bit of an update, Have had my ultimates for roughly 1yr now. Got the fronts fixed up by Ultimate (thanks heaps guys :D) after one side sagging 30mm (I blame the useless fitter  )

Since the repairs were done in January I have added a winch and front bar. Measured on a slight drop to the passenger side (road camber) and here's what I got:

FD - 570
FP - 565
RD - 635
RP - 630

Can't be much happier than that ;) She has been used and abused, drowned, smashed, bounced and slammed yet is pretty much the same as when first fitted.
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???

FL 522
FR 528
RL 559
RR 565

After Dobinson's 45mm lift kit
FL 593
FR 600
RL 655
RR 650

Buzzy wrote:Dont think we have done this yet. When you all get a chance go and measure your heights from the center of the wheel to the underside of the guard. I know there will be alot of variation due to aftermarket gear etc but will still be interesting. Think sam said somewhere that standard should be 545mm (at the front I assume)

Sheit! Just measured my heights all round.
FL was 509mm
FR was 517mm
RL was 578mm
RR was 584mm

Whole left side of mine is lower.
mmmm must be the big ass that sits on that side of the car :o

Hope the MOF doesnt read this.

I will check the heights again after the lift on Friday and let ya's know the difference.

Finally got to posting results sussy had been in for 3,000kms

MN GLX R

Before:

FL 532
FR 537
RL 565
RR 570

After (Ultimate upgrade):

FL 595
FR 595
RL 630
RR 630

With zero body roll now this has made a huge difference in the Tri's on road manners. Loaded for a weekend away it handles like a dream. It can get a little chattery in the rear when the tray is empty on corrigated dirt roads. Nothing a flick into AWD cant fix (love the SS).

A big thanks to Jack and the rest of the Ultimate team for all your imput and advice.

:)

Some more feedback after suspenion lift/upgrade MN GLX R

Winch bar, canopy etc

Before upgrade: With OME Tyres/Rims
FL 520
FR 530
RL 551
RR 565

After (Ultimate upgrade) With OME Tyres/Rims
2"Raised Height Coils, Raised Height Comfort Springs

FL 575
FR 585
RL 628
RR 628

This is after 600k's, ride was excellent even with 265/70r17 Mickey Thompson MTZ's on bitumen!

Changed back to OME Tyres/Rims for now! :(

Might have to get people to mention coil manufacturer or opted comfort etc when referring to the ultimate lifts.

I know there is a fair choice (depending on what the owner decides) would make it easier for people reading this thread to refer too.

Yeah it gets pretty technical. We use about 5 different spring rates and 4 different spring seat heights depending on the application.

Hey Guys,
Had the Ultimate 2" comfort ride fitted for about 2000km now. The details are as follows;
Original -
FR - 545mm
FL - 546mm
RR - 572mm
RL - 572mm

Post Bar Work - ARB delux bullbar, Sidesteps and rails, Rear step towbar
FL - 541mm
FR - 539mm
RR - 564mm
RL - 566mm

Post 2" lift
FL - 577mm
FR - 578mm
RR - 634mm
RL - 632mm

Weight on the weigh bridge was 2420kg with Canopy, barwork, and Mickey Thompson ATZ 4ribs 265/70/R17

Overall ride is awesome. Body roll has decreased significantly. Can't comment on offroad improvement yet but hopefully in the next couple of weekends that will change. Thanks, Brendan, ken and the guys at Ultimate.

Front Left 577mm
Front Right 577mm

Dobbies (heavier coil)
Ultimate Strut
No coil spacers.
winch with syn rope
ARB deluxe bullbar and brush rails
NO second battery in engine bay

Mr rear tub has been packed up (lifted) marginally for canopy (but unknown exactly how many mm's) so wont post as a bit irrelevant.

Not sure how related this is but i'll ask anyways

Ive been searching the forums trying to find out about this driveline shutter i have a 2010 MN 2.5ltr diesel manual with the super select and from what i can see its a one piece tail shaft. just wondering how many have had the shutter problem and if its an easy fix ??

At the moment im tossing up between TJM gold and Dobinsons at this point ?

I lifted my MN with a 2" Ultimate kit and no shudder. I think it's more of an ML issue.

I have the same vehicle, and have an 50mm Ultimate lift in, and I have no shudder. I have the one piece tailshaft.

I have a mate who got the OME lift from ARB and his has a slight shudder, however his is lifted about 60mm and handles like tripe.
