EFS Suspension

Re: EFS Suspension

Are people still happy with their EFS kits? I have a couple quotes at the moment, 2" EFS installed for just under $2k. Other option is Ultimate which comes in at $2,450. I know people are huge on the Ultimate stuff but is it worth an extra $500 over EFS?

Also has anyone used the MN lift on a ML, mechanic was going to try and do this for me as EFS do a 20mm lift on ML's and 45mm lift on MN's?

Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

EDIT: oh and any mechanics people can recommend in SA? I have used Pro 4x4 in the past and quite happy with them, $395 for fitment and alignment. Ultimate recommend Alltrac but they quoted $750 for fitment and alignment even with pre-assembled struts which seems absolutely ridiculous.

Ultimate is definitely worth the money having just changed from EFS recently. Even when the EFS was new it didn't perform anywhere near as well as the Ultimate.

I'd be concerned about a suspension company that doesn't realise that ML and MN are the same.

Go the Ultimate. It really is a step above.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

I'm guessing that's the wrong way around. MN front is higher than ML standard (and early mn I believe) and so the same lift will give the MN less lift above standard

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Just have to clear it through the missus, makes it easier when I can show her that other people recommend the extra dollars!

i can vouch for the ultimate kit.

I recently had an ultimate 2 inch lift installed in my MN, and it is by far the best modification i have done. makes the car light years better on road, and it has absolutely transformed its off road manners.

very happy with my ultimate kit.

Seriously, I don't get it.

A search will find a lot more people who were unhappy with EFS than happy and then people come on here and ask for recommendations, get told to try a different brand and then totally ignore the advice.

Yeahbutnah, I don't wish you grief, in fact I hope that you're deliriously happy with your choice but, mate, too many others haven't been and that would raise some big questions in my mind if I was in the same situation as you are now, about to lay down some serious coin on a suspension system that has hardly received rave reviews.

I understand that it may be cheaper but you have to live with it for a long time. Are the savings going to offset the risk?

That would be awesome, I'd like to hear how it goes.

I think the issue is that Ultimate is quite a bit more expensive (at $2k v$2.5k). I've heard reasonably good things about EFS but wasn't sure if Ultimate was worth the extra. The consensus here is obviously a resounding yes which speaks volumes about the quality of their product.

I'm starting to get a bit annoyed at US at the moment. Received a quote last week, called to order it on Tuesday and they have added an extra $100 to the price and wouldn't match the original offer they gave me. Said they would talk to their boss and call me back yesterday and didn't hear back from them. I understand they're busy and will hopefully call me back today but not impressed that they couldn't match their original quote from ~5 days previous.

$500 extra the first time is better than $2k, and then another $2.5k further down the line. Poor man always pays twice and $500 is nothing really.

Hey Guys,

one of the issues I face it is difficult here in sleepy old Adelaide to get Ultimate...
my MN is also on a company fleet novated lease,
this factors heavily into what "replacement parts" I can fit & who can fit it,
Today, I drove out the workshop happy with result, (so far)
yesterday, I had saggy standard suspension with 111000km on the clock

with that in mind, if I had availability & I was paying $$$ I may have chosen differently,

cheers,

Likewise, only 10 years underground under my belt but we've just got a new 76 series in the department...goes pretty well but not something I'd want personally, still too agricultural but bulletproof nonetheless
