EFS Suspension

EFS Suspension

Postby Yeahright on Thu Jan 05, 2012 10:58 am

I dont know if this has been asked before, butit there anybody out there running a 2" EFS Suspension kit????
The reason for the question is I have a friend who is an EFS didtributor but he has never put a kit in a Triton, I can get it for a good price but I have not heard of anybody running EFS in a Triton to get some feed back.

Thanks

I just had mine fitted about a month ago. Used the big bore struts and shocks and heavy duty springs up front. I have had not problems and it goes ok off road. I was in the same boat a mate has an account with them and for the price I was not complaining.
Keen to get amongst it!!

I was with Tex in the group buy a while ago, and got the 1 inch as that was all they had at the time. Hate it onroad, harsh ride and my front end is starting to wollow again. :? Offroad and with a tub full I find it to be quite good. ;) For the price we got it, it was the best option for the money we had. ;)

EFS is the biggest load of shit sold, i think its actually worse than Ironman!!! I had it for 2 years, and i only got it cause it was the first 50mm lift available, i now have ultimate struts with king springs (valved to suit) and cant fault it, by far the best product out for the tritons!!! I wouldnt throw money at EFS if i was you!!!

The EFS springs are ok (Carolls Springs??) but their shocks/struts are rubbish for tritons.
I've had mine for three years.
I just replaced the back with Ultimate (So much better ;) ) Can now feel the back working smoothly
Fronts are getting done next few days too.
The EFS shocks don't control the bounce/rebound of the springs sufficiently, maybe their not valved right for the tritons? Now the backs done I can feel the front not being controlled properly (on road) by the struts.

The rear shocks were soft as when I pulled them out.

I don't reccomend them :x

Yeah I got EFS 2" lift through Redcliffe Springs and Suspension. Have done probably 20K on and 5K off road and it can be rough/hard at times but all in all I am happy with it.

I tow a 2 1/2 tonne van and it handles the weight superbly. I even got air bags installed at the same time and really don't need to put much in them to have it ride level (about 15psi and the bags are good for 100psi).

Each to their own with suspension as everyone likes their ute to feel a certain way and what might suit 1 doesn't necessarily mean it will suit the next person.

I did a 2" lift on my Discovery 3 a few years ago. I used Kings springs
and the original struts, could this be done with the Triton/Challenger.

The original struts and shocks are not valved to match a heavier spring rate. In all honestly I don't think they are strong enough to control the original springs. Length wise they are fine, but you will not get any improvement in handling. The ride will also be a lot bouncier with more body roll.

The Land Rover came with fairly good stock suspension which is why you got away with it there ;)

I've had a 2" EFS Elite lift on all 4 corners, and I'm loving it. Heavy Duty springs and Elite struts up front in preparation for a steel bullbar/winch, and the 150kg constant load leaf spring/shock setup in the back. Tuned nicely and the handling is great.

Has anyone had EFS installed recently? Went to my local on the weekend and they recommended EFS all round and quoted $2400.

They use many different brands and they believe EFS to be the best. Never have them come back and 3yr warranty. Wondering if in the 5yrs since this thread started if they have developed a better and more consistent product. For that money I want it to be real good.

Retailers will usually recommend the product they make the best margin on or have other incentives from the supplier.

EFS seem to be getting good reviews on various forums. Ultimate have a huge following on this an other forums with competitive pricing.

I'm also keen to hear any further updates on efs suspension. Considering efs as an option for my ML at the moment

I ended up getting outback armour put in for $2100. Good warrantee and lots of good reviews with very few bad reviews in the mix.

Still can't comment on EFS but happy with the Outback armour.
