Ride Heights

Re: Ride Heights

Postby hcr83 on Wed Jul 10, 2013 6:25 pm

i guess my main concern is its dropped further everytime ive taken it on a decent run and i havent even got my drawers in the back yet...and there will be more weight on the drivers side as i only have one drawer and it one that side.

i wouldnt have thought a 100 odd kgs would worry the suspension if its especially designed for the extra weight.
It is what it is...

Reviewed my ultimate on the weekend- 3 months in-

Front dropped 10mm from 575mm to 565mm
Rear hasn't budged still at 630mm.

Still loving it, though it rides a little harder now from when first installed.

Nothing some new chunky tyres wont absorb.

No need to SHOUT.

So which one is it?

I think you'll find that the Rekon is expensive while, generally, the Dobinson kit is much harder than the Ultimate. Quite a few that I know of have changed, if not all, then at least part of their Dobinson kit for Ultimate. No point in being the crash test dummy, eh? ;)

Also 3 inch is not recommended. Any higher than 2 inch and you're putting CV joints etc in jeopardy.

Well, after 6 years and 11 months mostly towing a van the GLXR has done 155,000 ks and the front is 530 Right and 525 left, Rear is 570 right and 568 left.

Not too bad, only has a new set of shocks.

Hahaha I am trying to get a good idea of what is out there, I am looking at the 2" as I do think the rekon 3" is a little over priced and I don't wanna stuff my CV's.

Does anyone have an idea of prices for the ultimate kitt

They've been posted elsewhere on the site before. It does depend on exactly what options you go with but from memory you're looking at around $2-2,200 fitted. Easiest way would be to PM ultimate and ask.

ironman kit . Constant load leafs been in for a just over a year and sitting at 620mm . Changed the fronts from b's to c's (constant load) almost 3 moths ago for the bar + winch . Sitting at 585 front . very happy with the c's although the b's in the front sagged pretty quick

TJM xgs gold lift (not HD). got steel bullbar on front and a LR tank. After 2 years, front has sagged 25mm, rears have sagged 15mm. Current heights are:
FL 530, FR 535, RL 570, RR 575
Got these at manufacturing price from mate and for that price, the improvement in handling was worth it, but doesn't last very long. and the gas shocks are really noisy.

Getting the ultimate fitted tomorrow morning. Just measured my 7 year old stock...

FR 505 FL 500
RR 545 RL 545

Looking at some of the numbers, my front should go up almost 3.5"? Haha, sweet. I'll measure again tomorrow. Can't wait!

So, install done and looking good.

Front around 585 to 590
Back at 630

That is a nice 3 to 3.5" increase on a 2" install. Looks much better. Now have to go drive it a bit more!

Well just measured my tri!! And holy hell.. After nearly 200000 she's very sad to say the least ha ha and a boat to drive after the bullbar winch and rear bar install last year she didn't like the weight ha ha!!
FR 505mm
FL 495mm
RR 570mm
RL 570mm

Got a quote from dobinsons after the 4x4 show and can't wait and if I go by what some of the number are on here I can expect around 70-100mm lift!! Bring that on and then some 285's..
Can't wait

I had Ultimate take care of the triton on monday and couldn't be happier! Heights are as follows:

Pre lift:
fl 510 fr 540
rl 570 rr 560

Post lift:
fl 570 fr 600
rl 630 rr 630

60mm all round! I know this will sag a bit as it settles. Passenger front seems a little low but it was before the lift so i don't know what deal is with that… All round stoked with the ride!!

Thanks agin Ultimate :D
