you cant go any more in the front than about 35-50mm with factory set up.. the top wishbone will be jammed on the chassis stop and you'll have no downward suspension movement = useless

Hey joker 19 i haven't install mind yet, the only short fall is you would need longer rear shocks as they already restrict travel on standard suspension.
check out my photos on my homepage to see what i mean, my wheel is 6 inches off the ground the leaf would travel down more but the shocker is stopping it.

Agree with Silver...its too risky doing bodylift...bodyroll and general functionality of the car goes out the window

A 2 inch body lift, 2inch suspension lift and 35inch tryes is going to handle better on the road than doing a 4inch suspension lift plus 35inch tyres, as the center of gravity will be lower.

Its illegal to bodylift a car with airbags! Thats why everyone wants to get bigger suspension lifts!

No-one will certify a car that has a body lift with airbags!

From past message threads, as long as the airbag sensors are located on the chassis and NOT on the body, it is relatively easy to get an engineer to sign off on the lift.

FSC - thats what i was told by the mob up here that do the lifts! They cant get anyone to sign them off...unless thats just a QLD thing? Plus there is alot more involved with bodylifts etc...extending brake lines, adjusting all the auto transmission stuff...i would just rather stick with suspension it seems to me that its alot safer???

I think you guys need to do a little more homework.

FSC you are right on both counts the body roll on a susp lift is far worse and the airbag locators are on the chassis so you can get it engineered.

Doing it for looks is one thing but if you have to realise that if you do it for looks it will become less capable then a milder, more conservative vehicle like a lot of the parking lot queens you see from the states.

Also silver you do realise that when you do a body lift the body is lifted right? Why do you think that a4" susp will help protect the body more when they'll be at the same height only the body will still leave more downward travel?

I suppose you are right in a way AB, but could you imagine anyone going through with a body lift? Appart from Tuff Triton!

Its too hard and i would rather stick with a 4" Kit...(thats if i ever come around to doing it - if this snake racing kit is aiight i will just stick with that for a bit - just gotta get some 33's under her)

i reckon 2inch lift is all thats really needed followed by a sturdy steel rear bar side bars etc and bash plates cost would be similar and the car will be more protected any way

Mate he told me it was 3-4 blokes for half a day. That'd be a lot less than $3.5k

If you don't have a bullbar it'd probably be even less as they had to mod the mounting bracket. Other than that I think it was just extending brake lines and maybe fuel lines?

I agree bubba. That money would be better spent on protection bars, lockers and transfer gears IMO

Hey Austblue teah i know a body lift lifts the body and leaves the chassis lower for better handling, but i still prefer a good 4 inch lift over a 2 inch body and 2 inch suspension as a correct 4 inch lift you replace either the upper or lower wishbone and lower the front diff so your wheel travel remains the same as standard, with the advantage of better ground clearance. I would actually prefer more downwards travel then up as to me it would be better off-road.
