Have a read of this, it will explain the search function.

Seems may not have been my use of the search function but what I was searching? Search Function seems to work fine but not for EFS. Have they been blocked because they do no support the forum or for other reasons??

Searched Ultimate 5879 matches
Ironman 3233 matches
efs no match's.... not even my posts asking about it...

the search function doesn't like 3 letter searches if you put "EFS" or something similar with the quote marks it would have worked there is also the forum directory that has all the different suspensions listed as well as a hots of other useful information

If you read the topic "how to use search" it will explain the reason your search didn't return the results other searches did.

Gday Lads,

Stock 2015 GLX dual cab. No front or rear bars as yet. Got a double gull wing ally checker plate canopy sitting on an ally tray (approx same weight as stock tub?). Might load it up for a camping trip once every couple months. Lookin for a suspension upgrade.

What would you recommend?

Cheers,

Willo

Oh yeah as far as tyres go, just got the local lads down to $330 p/t for 265/75/R16 Goodyear Duratracs. Good Deal?

Re: Replace suspension with standard height springs

Postby ogre0015 on Mon Oct 26, 2015 7:12 pm

Hi,

I am interested in a suspension upgrade for my 2008 ML GLX-R Triton. Would like a 2 inch lift (or close to it).

Have heard lots of good reviews of Dobinson's suspension and got a quote from them at the 4wd and Adventure show that was held here in Adelaide on the weekend.

Is there a supplier and installer for an Ultimate Suspension package here in Adelaide? and does anyone know the approximate costs so I can compare to the Dobinsons quote?

Cheers.

Also any thoughts on:

Ultimate Vs Dobinsons vs Ironman suspension?

Was leaning towards Dobinsons or Ultimate

I reckon you have the order about right in the second line.

Make sure you let ultimate know you're a forum member so they factor in your forum discount. 8-)

Had a quick question, currently have 2" suspension lift.. On ebay found 2" suspension lifting blocks front and rear. If I were to buy these and fit these would I then have to extend brake lines, move drive components and would it be a big drama? Or should I be able to just wack the blocks In and go?

Won't fit as it physically won't be able to get them in? Or won't fit without extending lines.. Could I fit them if they were 1" blocks? Thanks for taking your time and answering! Know nothing about suspension/lifts, trying to get some extra height but don't want to body lift and have to re weld all my bar work

Depending on your idea of what a 2" suspension lift is. If you can force 35mm strut spacers in there (50mm lift). The suspension control arm will be forced against the droop stops. You will have no working suspension and a dangerous handling car.

2' more lift in the rear will mostly likely cause vibration issues (mainly manual GLX) . How do you plan to overcome them?

oh and blocks in the rear. I have seen posts of $2000 damage from fitting them.

ML or MN?
What is the current centre rim to bottom of flare MN or guard ML measurement?

Ah that sucks, so how are these boys rolling around in tritons with 2" suspension and 2" body lifts with 35's? They just ruining their cars? How do they deal with the bump stop issue

580mm is 2" suspension. Another 2" of body lift is just that. Body lift has nothing to do with suspension.

From what I can tell. A lot of people drive around with little to no suspension down travel. They take the droop stops out or cut them down.

35's and stuff will break. YMMV

Is that the MRR kit? If so great price. I paid $2140 delivered from a dealer, cheapest i could find. About to fit myself. From my research Dobinsons and Ironman are worlds apart
