Standard vs LIft suspension flex

here's some photos shows difference in suspension flex between standard and ironman constant load springs. Ironman flex isn't bad still limited by shocks. I'm thinking of going for longer shocks as have new rear brake lines 6inches londer then standard. Cheers

Rear looks OK mate but front looks a little less I reckon;)
You can't go to long with the rear shocks otherwise you will run into compressed length probs :o :o

hey sam yeah the front is fairly limited due to being close to upper bump stop thats why i've been emailing thailand trying to get new control arms to increase clearance and lower front diff. I measured the flex, standard centre of wheel to guard was 630mm at full flex 800mm not too bad. Cheers

glx-rsilver,

How do the constant load ironmans perform on rough dirt roads?

Have you noticed an improvement in rough road handling?

Does you ute maintain its line around corrugated corners or does the ass end still kick out like the stock suspension?

I have been considering going with the ironmans. On stock suspension, with the weight of the bullbar, winch and siderails, my utes front end is almost sitting down on the bumpstops. Every decent sized pot hole I hit bottoms out the suspension.

Your front end flex might improve with a bit more weight on the front end.....bullbar winch etc.

I took some Extra HD Kings out of the front as it lost alot of flex and got my HD's hot reset 8-)

It hasn't sagged to much has a better ride and good flex wink:

FC someone on here did mention that they weren't very happy with their Ironman shocks, said they were harsh and was not overall happy with them :o

I've got Koni's on the rear ,very good 8-)

hey freestyle nah my car has a bar and winch in the photo. They front down 20mm after fitting the bar. The front rides well, the backs a little firm as i haven't fitted my draw system and custom rear bar yet. For the price i have no problems with the ironman kit and am happy with the shocks.

Hey freestylecab there is plenty of lifts for triton in thailand whether it's replacing the upper control arm or lower one. I just need a good thai speaking girl to arrange transport for the required parts.

The fron doesnt have alot of flex due to bumpstop issues....but look at my profile for some pics, some of the pics are stock and some are 50mm lift, and some are the approx 4" lift

Not to be critical, lots of flex, but comparing standard tyres to larger will always make the droop appear larger.
Thanks for the post though.
BTW what rating were the rear leaves?

Keen for others to add images to this thread so we can check out what works.

the shock in that pics wasnt maxxed out..there was a little left in it! Just thought i would snap a pic. But will take some decent pics once i have the chance to take it offroad!

There isnt too much size difference between 32 and the stock tyres, dont get me wrong looks like there is, but realisticly there is only 1" bigger when comparing, so the tyres will also assist in droop as they are heavier etc...(does that sound right??)

Stock leaves mate....

Cheers ML, I wasn't taking the piss or anything, just pointing out the differences for others.

More weight (larger tyres) will enable the the rear to droop more, but by how much?

Oh and generally, we wouldn't see anything near this flex as the benifit of a rear diff lock enables the vehicle to overcome the loss of traction to enable the ute to "MAX OUT"
