Lpg Conversion Drive Report V6 Petrol

Postby Big Brad on Wed Dec 03, 2008 3:39 pm

It has now been 2 weeks since the conversion to Lpg dual fuel.

Used the Impco sequential injection system as approved my Mitsu .

On petrol the ute was averaging 13ltrs / 100 klms in a mix of city / highway driving with 2 ladders on the racks .

Power was good and everything ran sweetly.

On Lpg the ute is averaging 15 ltrs / 100 klm for same driving with same load.

Power is no different and runs sweet as.

The biggest difference however is at the bowser. Currently paying 45c/ltr for Lpg in Brissy working out at $ 6.75 / 100 klm driving. Cheap as I say.

At this rate It will take around 43 000klm to repay itself which equates to around 1 years motoring for me. After that it is all cream.

Cheaper than any other fuel source out there and still has that V6 rumble when you give it some.

Lpg all the way for me.

Get about 400klm from a tank before refill required giving total range of 900 klm between both tanks.

How is the Gas going Brad, any updates or issues?
What size and type of tank do you have Brad. Where did you fit it? In or under tub?
Have a colleague who is looking at lpg options at the moment.

Brad any updates,

Also any photos would be great, underside with the tank and plumbing in the engine bay... currently considering this among other mods.
i vote for a html version of the Gasa strip in between the 2 sites. then the goons who wanna get all parochial about their trucks can chuck rocks and shit at each other. by cyberhonky on Wed Jul 15, 2009 6:37 am

Sorry for the delay gents

The Lpg is going great guns

Have done 60 000 klm this year on it and never missed a beat

Shall take some photos and throw them up in my shed over the next few weeks.

She is going in for the new ring thing under wty shortly just before the 120 000 klm is up so will be even better then.
