To be specific on the problem, the front 4wd lights were flashing when in 2wd. This started while driving on the black top not a result of being bashed around 4wding. It is a 2009 ML 3.2 Manual.
So after many weeks of getting them to chase up Mitsubishi for an answer on the warranty, they finally replaced the solenoids (under warranty).
Initially they told me dirt/dust got in through the "filter" and clogged the "tee" piece which they cleaned out but it did not fix, so they assumed it was the solenoids.
On the service tax invoice (I received today (for $0.00)) the job description reads:
"4wd lights flashing on dash, looked at on RO P25614 requires new 4wd control solinoids.
vacuum solinoids open circuit.
tested and found vacuum solinoids open circuit. removed and replaced solinoids tested all ok."
And that's it. Drove home and the lights have stopped flashing But when I got home and had a look at the new solenoids I saw this.......
I got a free zip tie!
The new solenoids have the blue and yellow dot on them.
Should I be taking it back and requesting they replace the plug they broke? or will the "fix" they do cause more problems?
