Stone Protector damage

Postby Rossspence on Mon Jun 29, 2009 12:37 pm

I had a Genuine stone protector attached about 3 weeks after purchasing my GLX-R by a Mistu dealer. I removed the stone protector after two years and 90,000K's and noticed that it had warn the paint away from the bonnet down to bare metal where the attachment clips were.
I contacted Mitsubishi and they didnt want anything to do with it when trying to claim it with warrenty.
NOT HAPPY!! Be careful if you have one attached as it is now going to cost me alot to get my bonnet re-spayed....Thanks Mitsubishi!!! :x

Normally they put that contact type plastic on before putting the clips on... bit of a bugger! If you are going to keep the stone protector, it's probably not worth the full respray - just get a bit of that stop rust stuff and then touch it up with a paint pen...

Mine has done it too at one of the plastic tabs. Wears straight through the contact.

I might go back and see what they have to say.... I just painted the protector though so they will probably say I did it
I hate to advocate drugs, sex, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.
