I have had a search around & can not find the information I am looking for.
My MN Manual Triton has 11,000km on it & had developed a small whine in the diff @ 100km/h
The dealer said he could not fix something he can not find - next time i will take him for a run
Or it might be the fact that it has been lifted 2"
A diff breather has just been fitted & so i am thinking i will change the oil in the diff - There is no LSD Tag on the diff & there isn't a locker fitted. The service book & it states "Gear oil API Classification GL-5 or higher SAE80", after looking on the Castrol website it recommends using: the following oils
DIFFERENTIAL :CASTROL EPX 80W/90 Service Refill Capacity: 3.2 Litres.
4WD DIFFERENTIAL CASTROL EPX 80W/90 Service Refill Capacity: 1.2 Litres.
4WD TRANSFER :CASTROL VMX-M 75W/85 Service Refill Capacity: 2.5 Litres.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION: CASTROL VMX-M 75W/85 Service Refill Capacity: 3.4 Litres
What is every one else running in there gearbox/ transfer / diffs ?
It does mention to use LSD Oil if a LSD is fitted
