I am still waiting delivery on my new Triton so spent some time looking for drawer systems ........ there are a few out there, so my question/s is Who out there has drawers fitted, if so what brand, how do you find them and what configuration would you suggest?
I have a 40lt engel and ABR battery to fit in as well.
Iam looking at Blackwidow and I think outback drawers??

Any help would be great. and some photos would be nice please.

As with most aftermarket accessories, it's a matter of taste and needs. I put drawers in my 60 series cruiser just before I went on a 7 week trip around WA. I thought they were the duck's nuts. They housed everything including a 50 ltr chescold fridge in a way that needed minimal unpacking to find/get anything. From the day I returned however, I found them to be an absolute PITA as they took up a heap of room which reduced what I could carry on a day to day basis. When I went on trips I returned to loving them. I want to put them in the Triton now but I think they will have to be modular and quick/easy to remove. I'm not sure any of the major manufacturers do this yet.
As to configuration, try to keep your fridge as low as possible to allow good access to the coldies even when it's stored. With the battery, most of these systems have top access lockers down the sides and sometimes toward the front so this might be a goer for you. Just remember, this battery will have to be a sealed type as you don't really want gases venting into an enclosed space.

I was thinking of something like the set above however getting a drop down fridge slide but not sure if the slide/fridge would clear the tailgate. Therefore making the two drawers the same size/height so I still have a flat surface for the dog and kids bikes etc.

I have a custom made fridge slide/rack but not complete drawers.
I was goin to do ta full drawer system but it limits what you can put in the back......... like a dirty 45Kg shepard.

I built a frame which as a drawer on one side and a fridge slide on the other will take a couple of photos and post them, got the idea from a article in the overlander mag last year some time.

here mate these are mine that i have built from scratch, the 40litre engel was not going to fit on the draws and under the canopy so i had to make just the one draw but its perfect and fits all the gear I need.



I have now installed my second battery in here.

And i have these storage pockets on both sides the other one holds the compressor and air tank.

I have an ARB conopy and was wondering if the 40 lt Engel would fit.

I have a set of local custom drawers that go all the way to the back so they are quite long
Cost $1500 fitted bargain they sell a fridge slide that tilts down towards the tailgate so one end is at drawer level and the other at tailgate level

Hi trouble, I've got a draws in the back of mine, I opted to make my own.
I didn't see any that i liked and the ones that i did like just weren't quite right.

From the day I returned however, I found them to be an absolute PITA as they took up a heap of room which reduced what I could carry on a day to day basis.

I would have to agree with greedy, if they are in there permanent they can be a waist of space when you need to carry that big item and you don't want to tow the trailer.
I can remove mine in 5 min if i need the space and just store it away.
It took me a weekend to knock up and about $300, plenty of room for the fridge and an extra battery.

If the fridge is being used i take the floor piece out, or leave it in place for a full floor..........

Yea good johno .
The drawers are good still pretty happy with them, I have done a couple of little things to them but there all good.

I've got Black Widow drawers and can recommend them they're top quality units. I've got two drawers side by side, so a flat (but raised floor) The only drawback(:lol: get it) is that the fridge , a 60 litre Engel sits so high that the wife and kids are always asking me to get the stuff in or out of it. And you lose a bit of interior space in the canopy for bigger items.
I'm gonna have to fork out for a drop down fridge slide (about $600 ) before our next trip.

So either factor in a drop down fridge slide into your budget or put up with a high fridge, or consider two drawers on top of each other with the fridge slide low down on the ute tub.
