So in the past month the triton has come along a little bit further. I have also been on holiday for the birth of my second little son, came on the 18th of july.

So I started off with shortening the rack so it doesn't go accross the cab and roof anymore,
Changed my headlights down to 35w hids 4000k colour
Wired an led strip light in the tub
Blew my first cv, which I changed out the next day and was a lot easier than i thought,
Then finally committed to the 1/4 chop on the tub (rear bar work still to come)

Also took the bash plates off, gave her a good clean under there, sanded back some surface rust and rustproofed under the front diff area.

Some quick flex photos after the clean down the end of the street

Went wheeling on sunday with a big group of cars from a 4x4 club out in the dunes, there were about 25 cars all up. The triton put other cars to shame as usual :D until the cv blew out. Lucky enough it was at the end of the day on the last hill. Was having to much fun i forgot to get many photos.

Only photo i took

So then came the chop, its been something i've been tossing up for a while now since i got the tub damage a few months back, the only thing that was holding me back was getting fabricators to make the bar up for me. However I ended up bumping into an old mate on the tracks who has his own boily workshop that specialises in mining equipment, but with a bit of persuasion he said he'll make the bar up for me. Also with some guidance from matty at Monster Rides, the chop was happening.

I started with removing the rear flares and mudflaps. I wanted the chop to be pretty flush with the tailgate, so that was my line that i followed around the sides and down on an angle.

With the 1mm cutting disc in the grinder there was no turning back

Once all the cutting was done, I filed all the edges smooth, rust proofed every edge, lined the edges with pinchweld and installed the new mud flaps and flares back on. The reflectors still need some more trimming and then have the edge finished off better, which will come later on.

The number plate is just there temporary until the bar is complete, which is being done at the moment. I am stoked with how well it turned out, the departure angle is awesome and no more tub damage. Can't wait to get that bar on now :D

Nice work mate.

Suffice to say you beat me too it. It's a mod that I've wanted to perform since getting hung up in the HC.

Have you noticed any flexing in the tub panels post cut?
One day your life will flash before your eyes. Will it be a good show ???

Hey, I love the runva winch. I've used it a fair few times and it holds up well. For the price and warranty you can't go wrong. They have a special on at the moment and you can get a black one with red rope.

Cheers motoZ,

The rear is still solid, the side flexes a tiny bit more than stock but nothing to be worried about at all. You should do it mate.

Hey dunney, wolf are doing the special as well, there's a code on here to get a discount and the black 11xp is selling for 649 without the code and I got free delivery to perth. Here's a link to the page.

Hey mate,
Awesome build! I love what you've done in the tub with the battery and air compressor! How much did your current suspension setup cost?
