I have a MN 2014 triton with an xrox bullbar and mitsi towbar among other things. I am looking for some kind of bar that will fit on the back, doesn't have to be steps, but would like to match the style of the xrox.

I presume this would have to be a custom job. If anyone knows someone in Perth who can help please let me know.

Fridgie has the correct thread above. I would skip through to this post though as I couldn't see any photos until that point:

Not by coincidence I'm pointing you towards the MCC bars. I don't think you'll ever get a bar that 'matches' the xrox, since it is so, well let's call it unique, but to my mind the MCC bars are probably the closest stylistically speaking.

Most of them tend to incorporate a towbar. You may find it easier/cheaper in the long run to sell the towbar and replace with one that has rear protection built in.

Exactly the same as an ML, minus the boost controller...

I'll look for a rundown and PM you.
You just piggy back off the plug on the back of the fuel rail.

Have a look for a thread with brash imports in the title. The unit you linked to looks identical to the one in that thread.

Re: Installing Double DIN radio (Digoptions) in MN GLX-R

Postby SLIMaxPower on Thu Feb 26, 2015 11:39 pm

I have been looking at several Double Din Units.

I want to be able to show trip data/fuel/compass etc, Whether its on the DIN unit or like the pics in the last post.

I have a 2014 MN. What parts do I need to get from a wrecker.

trip computer an RV meter ?

cheers

Have you read rodeddy's post about modifying the standard RV meter to fit into that smaller spot? That explains the parts needed for that approach.

I reckon your chances of scoring the new smaller style RV meter are somewhere between none and buckleys.

Also have you read 4wd trainer's thread about installing hr be rash imports model which has images of the trip computer displayed on the double din?

Hi Dave yes I have read through.

my 2014 MN does not have a rv meter that I am aware of. no display etc, thats why I was asking what parts from what models should I try and source from. mn glx-r ? challenger ?

I would prefer to have the info display like in nerdy's install.

Yeah but I think you're missing my point. The info display like the one in those pics is about $1,300 to buy if I recall correctly. And it's so new you're unlikely to find a second hand one at a wrecker.

So the next best option is what rodeddy did. In his post about it he says the display he used was from a slightly older MN and he buys an adapter from China and manages to get much the same look as above but for only about $200-ish.

The display comes from an mn glxr, anything after 2009.

The double decker hood part number is:

MI-8060A234XA which will be a dealer parts purchase.

Now assuming you also have an MN the next and biggest question is whether your car actually has the wiring and the necessary plug in it. I've recently been through this exercise with my car and the plug just isn't in there which makes the job near impossible. So you're looking for a grey coloured plug up the top. The shape and number of pins is like this:

added the thermo fan and fitted Scotty's 3" exhaust and cross threaded the bolt closed to the manifold grrrr. It's not fully done up. Do I undo it or leave it as is... or will it need to be drilled out and re tapped ??

The turbo/dump pipe has 3 bolts. One that comes out and 2 that are only threads that you use a nut to do up.
I have crossthreaded one with a nut.

The opposite to a tap is a die from memory, which is made for cutting threads onto a stud like that. If you don't have one though and the thread isn't totally stuffed maybe have a go with a high tensile nut and see if you can thread it on straight. It might pull your bent threads back a little.

I can't picture where your working but the other alternative would usually be to remove the stud and stick a new one in. I don't know if that is feasible in this case.
