Dual battery install

Two 10" batteries, starter is a 720cca supercharge, even though its smaller than the factory battery it has more balls which surprised me and the aux is a 80Ah supercharge all rounder.

Battery tray from piranha, said it could fit a 12" and a 10" but it was way too tight with the wiring look running in between them.

Redarc SBI12 mounted on a bit of angle.

Two Anderson plugs, one next to the back seat and one in the tub. Fridge will primarily be in the back seat strapped down but if needed can be moved to the tub.

Auto elec also made me a little clamp and plug to use as an isolator override for jump starting off the second battery if ever required. Other option was a switch in the cabin, but didn't think it necessary.

Happy with the job, very reasonable pricing and good bloke too. Anyone in Melb need an auto elec give Bell Auto Electrical in Heidelberg heights a go, he's always been super helpful, have been to him with a few cars now and nothing's too hard.

Now twin locked

Next.... who knows, reduction gears, adjustable front struts, tune, tray, the list goes on. Then when I'm done it'll be time to trade it in

Just a quick question? with your roof racks and mounting rails. I've been looking at doing this for my ML but not sure what to get. As these aren't standard for the triton, what model or code number do I need to look for?

If you go on the rhino website you can select your car then it will give you all the options available. Mine are the RLTF Track mount system.

After eBay, gumtree, Facebook, wreckers all let me down.. I found what I was after:

Short and high 3 tonne towbar to suit my canopy.... far out it was hard work to find. And guess who had it on the shelf but didn't know what it suited, the local Mitsubishi dealer.

$300 including tongue and wiring harness (neither of which were needed)

Got a quote for my 90k service while i was there too - $2300-$2400 wow! Think I'll get another quote

That's the bar I'd hope to get when I bought the ml vr. Instead I got the one with step / bumper brackets.

Good price too there moses. The dealers aren't always the first choice but on more than once have actually been cheaper than third party sources. The accessory & spare parts industries are just as happy to take your hard earned cash as the stealers. :lol:

It's next to the backseat, wanted to have a spot to plug it in if I needed to put it in the cab for whatever reason

Took me ages to find that bar, and people don't understand that some parts are interchangeable between models... it all gets harder when you change things.

Yes, not always much clue behind the counter these days.

When I go for oil filters for our two zuks first question is 'what are the VIN numbers?'. Wtf? An Alto and a 2l SX4, how difficult can that be? :lol:

So how much higher does the receiver tube sit compared to the glxr version?

Did that come with a part number Moses? Exactly what I am chasing, pretty sure I saw one in a triton parts brochure some time back but thought it may have been one of the dreaded plough bars. I also have a tray so that would be ideal.

Looks like the recent bars are built to go onto both ml and mn chassis with mounting holes for each.

Do the mounts get cut off when mounting on ml?

Even the MQ bars would bolt on. If you're after something high and short, check the single cab towbars.

Had a look at some high country and some very high engine temps..

Some long climbs resulted in temps up and over 110deg, had me quite concerned in some areas i really didnt fancy walking out of.

Needle was nearing the red line but no limp modes, engine lights or beeps.. but i did stop and open the bonnet to get some cooling happening once the needle started creeping up.Click to view larger picture

Probably not, she's seen some mud but always gets a good clean afterwards. Will have to get in there and give it an extra good clean and checkup before I get out again.

Check between the ac condenser and radiator cores, amazing what accumulates in this gap.

If you undo the radiator shroud and move it to the rear, it provides good access for cleaning.
