My new project

Postby outback jack on Tue May 12, 2020 11:06 pm

Just brought this at the Auctions

Triton ML GLXR 3.2 Auto Diesel Oct 08 Build, Mar 09 Compliance

Not sure if its classified a 08 or 09 model. Doesn't seem to have any differences from earlier ML`s

Im 2k away for work, so wont see it for a month or so......

Going to get fixed over next month or so. Then start the build. Going to fit cruise first as I do a lot of country driving

Congrats on the purchase. Do you have a vision for it?
Looking forward to seeing how you go

No real vision. Just want to get it on the road again. Biggest hurdle so far is the rear windows.... there are a lot of small parts/seals etc. Trying to find one complete, with perhaps the cab wall to make sure I get everything.

After that, just common upgrades. Bullbar etc etc

Apart from that will do a full service on it

Apart from the back window it looks in pretty good Nick.

Do you know the vehicle history?

Back window took the heat. Nothing really got inside. Hardest part been GLXR is to find all the parts for the rear window, Some seals are not available new.

I took a risk really as I haven't seen it. I dont know its history, but it stock standard and does not appear to have done any real 4wding. More been a rural car.

I'm not sure if its got books, doubt it.

Another problem, being in Darwin. Getting canopy, tubs, bullbars 2nd hand is pretty much non existant.

Nice score. I wonder what happened previously to the truck.

Some updates.

Vehicle now has rego and I had my first drive yesterday.
Did 300 odd kms today. It averaged 10.8l/100 sitting on around 120kmh (NT)

Hooray it did have factory cruise. Drives absolute mint. Interior is like new. The instrument cluster looks new, no dust etc under clear speed cluster. Engine looks like almost new. Mechanic has lost engine cover......

Update.

MR Triton BOCAR Tray fitted.

Bit long but will shorten it later. Still has camera and rear sensors fitted. Not sure if I can use them. Main plug was different. However it was easy to just push pins out from old plug to new

Will put pictures up later of it fitted

You could probably get a mirror with built in monitor and use the camera with that.

Progress looking good.
