Miss Daisy's Development

Postby fridgie on Tue Dec 21, 2010 8:08 am

Drove to goldy for work today, almost hit a car merging as didn't realise how quick I was accelerating

Economy seems to have improved too  normally would sit around the 10.5-11l/100km for that trip and today sat at 10.1 :D

Really looking forward to the drive to Sydney so I can get a better idea how she goes now on long distance runs.
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???

Fridgie I get that economy with all my weight in the tub, canopy, barwork and larger tyres and a chip. 10.5 when towing my CT. just food for thought, but the numbers are impressive!! re the gains.

That may be the case mate, but at least it is MY triton

What's your driving style and what speeds do you sit at. Daisy is either out 4wding or sitting on 110/120 on the highway, if I stay around the 90/100 the economy improves but I just can't go that slow ;)

if you have standard exhaust you are probably running up to 19PSI.

bigger exhaust and you can go to around 24PSI without big EGT temps.

group buy on a Scott Rods exhaust mate....... :?: :?: :?: :D :D :D :D

It could be worse mate! My car has been getting repaired from the crash and I had an ARB deluxe bar installed..... So they call me today and tell me that they got an MN bar in not an ML!!! They have fitted it but it has to go back in the new year to be changed! Now I can't fit my new spot lights or UHF antenna! And when I picked up the car the intercooler is leaking boost!!! Hopefully they can fix it tomorrow!!

yeah that could be the difference Fridgie as (you all know) the Mrs drives it most of the time and she changes gears around 2k and it rearly gets over 80kph unless I drive it or when we go away for a play.

But again they are good results.

Hey fridgie,

As long as you can get someone to put the bolts through while you hold the bar you can do all the rest alone. The sahara bar isn't too heavy.

I fitted mine with only the help of MRS SEJ ;)

Remember to leave the wheel arch flares a bit longer than the template calls for, about 10-15mm

Miss Daisy's Development

Postby fridgie on Thu Jan 06, 2011 6:34 am

After the trip down south, I decided to grab a highlift jack seeing as the original is completely useless now. Came in handy while doing the sahara bar install last night :D

Big thanks to Kwyjibo and Pootrol for coming over to lend a hand ;) although, seeing as we didn't finish, maybe starting with beers was a bad idea

Wow there is some gear in the box!!! Will do a write up later but here's a couple of pics for you :D

Looks shit hot mate! Just got to finish the underside plates i see! My suspension dropped considerably when they put my ARB deluxe bar on. It's in today getting constant load springs fitted to lift it back up again! Ironman threw me some new springs no charge which was sweet. Look forward to meeting you on saturday!
