So how many kms on the old unit Srb?

Sounds like a few grand of TLC will keep it ticking over a few more years yet. :lol:

G'day Chris, thanks mate, good to see you're still around the traps... You still got the mighty Paj?

Yeah, RHK it's getting near 190k kms on it now... Still on original injectors, and only second SCV. Still running original chip-it on a custom tune and bypassed elec boost control. Problem free the whole time apart from a dodgy bad earth that was causing the chip to do weird things.

So yes, with a few grand chucked at it in near future it will be good as new! .. Injectors, timing belts, clutch, maybe rear diff overhaul. Not bad considering it hasn't been really been touched since 2014.
I do spend between $70 and $90 on it every 10k km or so, just doing the usual oils and filters. Cheap as chips.

Good to see the ute still powering on. Still got mine, no issues, still on the original scv (those Parker Racor filters might have helped there, Steve). Motor smoother than ever. Did the valve clearances a 100k km's after the previous adjustment and could have gone further. No drama there.

Funny thing, I know of 19 other MN Tritons (mates, work colleagues, sporting club acqaintances etc) and none have had or needed an engine replacement. All running between 150-250K km's now. Must be lucky (looks around, touches wood). Just the usual servicing and timing belt changes etc.
The voices in my head may not be real, but they do have some damned good ideas.

If it's feral, it's in peril.

G'day, Pete yeah that secondary filtration must be doing something... Although I haven't needed to replace an element for 2 years since moving away from Sydney, fuel quality must better up north.

Good hear your beast still going strong, still heaps out there without engine dramas, bit mixed around here with a few people that I know having had new engines and a handful of people that have never had or even know about the issue, they just drive em without any problems.

Yep! Heading to 6 years old and just clocked over 50K. Not worth replacing so paid it out and will keep it for as long as it keeps going, which, at this rate, could be a very long time. Often wish I had a ute though. If only there was an MR GLS Club Cab :(

My other project has been setting up our 100 series Landcruiser for family 4x4 trips, we've had it for a little over 2 years, purchased off my wifes grandparents for the right price.

We have a little one in tow now so the Triton hasn't got enough seats.

2004 HDJ-100 4.2TD Landcruiser.

Just finished rebuilding the front of the ifs, new upper uca's, new bushes and ball joints in the lowers, welded in some strengthening plates on the a- arms and laminated the torsion bar adjusters for good measure. Is a bloody heavy vehicle compared to the Triton, all up she weighs in at 3.02t before adding passengers, fuel and camping gear.

Yeah good decision on the Paj! They're a well sorted vehicle.

And yeah I'm hearing with the club cab, I would've purchased mine as a glx-r if they made them available. Those Mitsubishi so-and-sos!
