Well it is good to see they listened to the feedback. Of course the whole thing is CG, but that edit would have cost them some serious coin. It is not photoshop. It is some serious talent work & fat render farm time to do that.
I maintain a couple of production companies ;) :geek:

G'day all,

I haven't needed to snatch the Triton yet and wanted to know if most folks use a recovery bridle on the front or whether they just snatch off one of the hooks? Any issues or recommendations?

If you have a recovery bridle is it the rope style or strap type and what brand did you get?

Cheers

I have used the hook for a snatch recovery before but personally prefer an equaliser between the two. I use a just straps equaliser strap but a tree trunk protector will do the same job.

There are some differing opinions on what is best though. Chopper who is a member on this forum had a preference for snatching straight off the hook with an equaliser looped through the snatch and onto the other tie down point to prevent the strap becoming a projectile if I recall correctly.

Reviving the thread with some noob questions

Rear recovery points? Is it acceptable for me to remove my tow bar and get some more rhs but thick wall, drill a hole and put a D shackle on it and use that as my rear recovery point? I've looked at every page on this thread and cant see it mentioned anywhere.

Front recovery (with a standard bumper and nudge bar) I'm gathering the best way to recover is with a tree stump protector looped between the hook and the hole in the front then snatch strap off that?

Sorry for the dumb questions, new to it all so only way I'll learn the safe way of doing it haha!

At least I'm wise enough to know that a tow ball will sheer the bolt with that snatch load ;)

Cheers guys. ;)

Not sure what you mean by removing the tow bar. Do you mean just taking out the tow hitch as you can buy for less than $50 a dedicated recovery hitch that fits into the tow bar.
And yes using a bridle strap aka tree trunk protector, you distribute the weight between the two points.

You can also at a pinch put your snatch strap in the tow hitch receiver with the pin through the end, not as good for your snatch strap but infinity better than doing it off a towball
