Keys for ARB canopy

Postby Greedy on Mon Aug 04, 2014 11:20 am

I've recently bought a canopy second hand but the seller has lost the keys. Is there anyone out there with an ARB canopy which has key number 005? If so, would it be possible to post me a copy. I will reimburse you for your trouble.

you can get through ARB- shouldn't be too much

I cannot help mine are different # as standard, but I have a couple (had to buy new replacements) so will check what numbers they are.

ARB were no help as it's the older style handles. They're now out of stock of that number. Cheers for checking.

By older style do you mean the T shaped handles instead of the D shaped?

My key has a 4 digit number stamped on it. I seem to recall though that when I went to ARB they also nominated a single digit number when they went off to get me a new lock to replace a busted one.

When I was looking at this issue recently I was able to find a place in the UK that sold replacement handles and locks so let me know if you need me to try and find that again.

Thanks CD. I'm sure I'll solve the issue without involving the Poms. Just trying to get lucky before going ro a locksmith.

NFT5: no good but thanks for checking.

Only cost me $40 with 4 keys for them to do it.

I just took the hole handle lock assembly off and took it down

Thanks guys. Looks like a trip to the locksmith might be in order.

Long time, no type Buzzy. :D Good to see you back on here although I'm not bad at neglecting the place either at times.

I'd give it another day or two mate you may still get lucky. Do you know anyone on newhilux? I assume all the locks are the same so you might increase your odds there too.

That's a very good price considering I just got 3 locks for our factory re-keyed at $35 each! Plus keys. And I even took the locks to him.

I'll check my old mans keys for you tonight greedy!

You could always try and borrow a DAT3R masterkey from a locksmith that specialises in automotive?

It will work for about 90% of canopy locks and just so happens to also work for about 75% of mailbox locks (the ones you have at your house, not at the post office) ;)

Hey mate,

Are you still after keys? I bought a second hand canopy without keys, took one to a locky and had a few made up. Want to guess what lock code they are? 005! Let me know if you still need one and I'll be more then happy to mail one to you.

Greedy is in the US at present mate doing the trip of a lifetime. He's mostly forgotten his Australian mates as he endures a full week at bloody Disneyland. I'll speak on his behalf for now and say geez you're a top bloke, please keep one for him and he'll shout you a beer when he gets back. I'm sure he'd agree with all of that and if he doesn't then he doesn't deserve you.
