Weight of well body tub.

Fellas I'm going to change out the well body tub on my club cab for a tray. Just wondering if anyone knows the weight of the extra cab tub?

Bugger. i was hoping Sky was closer because with 380kg to play with i would have almost gone close to having the same weight.

the tub would be more than 100kg but less than 200kg as it is a 2 person lift straight up, with a third making it easier to get the stupid wheel arches over the chassis/tyres. it was actually heavier than i thought it was going to be when i took mine off, nearly as heavy to lift on and off as the steel tray we lifted back on.

Note that we're talking club cab here - does that make the tub longer than the dual cabs?

It's quite amazing what the sum of a few sheets of steel will weigh. A few times, when working at Toyota, we had robots f... up a body or body gets caught in a lifter or vin stamp stuffs up and had to manually remove semi assembled bodies from the line.
Jeesh they were heavy.
I'm talkin pre paint, pre guards, doors, bonnet, boot etc.
10 to 15 odd bloke lift.
Funny seeing these and almost completed cars in a steel scrap bin.
Such a waste surely they must be worth something...

Cowboy. Yeah the tub is longer about 500mm it looks like its about half way between a single cab and dual cab in terms of tub length.

Since we are all guessing mine would be 150kg as it is a two man lift and i can support it on my legs (just) laying back to ground

Cool. It is however one of the more heavy duty trays iv seen. I have no intention of making it that heavy and im going to use ally plate for the tray bed and boxes/draws to save some weight.

Mine has ally plate bed and drawers etc but the rest is quite heavy duty.

Never weighed it but lifted a few times. Not a difficult lift for two blokes, much easier with three and also easier to manoeuvre. My guess: 80-100kg.

I found through Mitsubishi that base weight with just the cab and chassis is 1790kg and with tub 1910kg for the dual cab. But it also says the weight of the rear of the vehicle with no tub is 687kg and with tub is 820kg. I'm assuming this is for the MR as it quotes an optional 265/60R18 tyre.

OK, so if base weight of dual cab tub is 120kg (1910-1790) and axle weight increases by 133kg due to more weight behind axle and this is for MR, then it's reasonable to say that MN is about the same, perhaps a little less (110kg) while the ML with 180mm less length is probably around 95-100kg.
