Fuel filler ideas on ml custom tray

Hi guys.

Curious to know what guys have done for fuel filler placement when making a custom steel tray. I have tek screwed the original filler from the old tub onto the side for now but just cusrious to know if there is a better option. Or if i can buy a flange to weld a tab off the tray.

The commercial tray builders use a mass produced clamp. It has a round sleeve that clamps onto the steel section of the factory filler. It attaches to a steel rod with a female thread in the other end. Allows you to bolt it to the tray. PM your mobile and I'll message you a photo. I use an iPad and can't attach images to this forum. Painful.

Here is the fuel filler attachment on my tray. It's bolted to the front of the mud guard.
