Ultragauge gauges

Postby sydneymark on Tue Aug 01, 2023 8:18 pm

Hi all
Have a 2019 pajero sport so hopefully this is a suitable place for the question

I have just got a ultragauge and wondered what you considered the best gauges to monitor, I'm towing a 2.5 van is that helps.

Hey mate. I don't have a scangauge but I use an OBD2 scanner.
Anyway, when towing I keep a close eye on both ATF temps. If the transmission is flaring, you can get some high temps.
Also, coolant temp, which is a given.
Finally probably worth keeping an eye on your exhaust gas temps.
I monitor a lot more than that with an app on a phone but that should keep you informed.

I don't think I have those temperatures as options, I have an engine temp and another that usually is about half the engine temp

Most scanners can monitor a lot more than what they come set up as standard with.

You need to set up for each sensor and enter in a code to identify that sensor. Search here on NewTriton - there are quite a few scattered around the place. Also do a web search since the one(s) you want may be on other sites/forums.

I monitor Fuel Rail Pressure, Water Temp, Boost one other that I vary according to what I'm doing.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?
