Well here we go again,as most of you are aware my MN has gone to a better place and I am taking delivery of a shiny new MQ Exceed in 2 weeks, well I can have it tomorrow but im off to work for a fortnight and they have a bit more gear to fit up so they will work out fine.
As I said in a previous thread I couldn't get my choice of colour(Titanium) until late November so I was lucky enough to get there demo at a reduced price :D :D with a few extras on it I didn't want but im not complaining.
The truck will come fitted with:
Rear diff lock standard :D
Tub liner:didnt want this ;)
Flush mount tonnue cover:didnt want this ;)
Headlight and bonnet protectors:didnt want these ;)
Factory tow bar
Diamond pattern 17 inch alloys 8-)
Factory snorkel
Cooper ST Maxx tyers
Side window weather shields front and rear:didnt want these ;)
Sand grabber rubber matts
Roof Bars (Thule)
ARB Summit winch bar and side rails and steps and 9.5 warn winch, dealer to fit when available

That should get me going until I nut out my rear end set up,and a good lift becomes available
A few pics of the ute and my impression of the new canopy set up much the same as my old one but will be hard top and canvas and no lift up access on this one

Congrats mate. New toys are always fun but I get dizzy thinking of the $$$$$ to spend. :o

I added some 35" muddies, color coded bar and sliders, light bar and spottier, roof top tent and high lift jack and a 3" flamin exhaust.
Let me know if you need any more help :D

finalised the deal on the ute and brought it home for the day, gave me time to sus a few things out,i was slightly embarrassed not being able to pop the bonnet as the handle is in a new spot :? plenty of room under the hood for some goodies, and from what I can see the old bash plate bolts look to be in the same spot as the MN,did some measurements for the canopy and drawers and dropped by my local Auto lec to ask him about overcoming the smart alternator problem and he rekons just drive with your lights on ;)
Any I reluctantly took her back to the dealer where it will be fitted with the rest of the gear and I will have it when I return from work in 2 weeks,Toier than a roman sandal :D :D

Hello all my first time post on this forum and watching these build ups with interest as I have also just purchased an MQ Exceed with hard canopy. Swapping the standard tires for 265/65 and will fit an arb summit bar as well when it is available. So a newbie question what is the issue with the smart alternator?

Cheers

Looks good mate, that last photo it seems a different colour :? Is that camera or does it change colour in different light ?

Have to say though the weather shields look bulky...

Keep the reports coming mate :D

Hey Dunga,

Does it have the air con radiator fitted to it or is it something else to add to the mod list?

Oh no the Drivers side firewall grommet isn't on the MQ :( and the extra sound proofing makes it hard to find an entry point for the many wires I want to run in there

Bugger!

Can you run them through with the main harness like on the ML/MNs?

Yes had looked at that, its a massive rubber grommet probably the only option just worried it might split

run 5 or 7 core trailer wire so you have some spares for later

wish I had done that from the start, would have made things much easier

Bring a multi core flex in from the engine bay terminated in a relay box, from which you can control all your new toys.

I'd suggest making these control wires switch to negative. This way you won't have to go hunting for power and having heaps of fuses to accommodate under he dash. Essentially your switch block is a remote control for the relay box.

Have fun Dunga.

Close but no cigar, luckily the Mechanic at the stealers did some checking and realised there wasn't a winch fitting kit included before cutting the bumper off,now waiting for that to turn up

Looks good!

Does that custom wrap look cheap in real life? as I've always wanted to paint it black but not sure what to use. Also did you remove the grill to paint it?

edit* Also another thing I've wanted to ask someone guess you would know, does the whole front bumper get cut off when bullbar goes on? if so what do you do with that bumper afterwards?

cheers
